I feel an introduction is in order!
Hi Everyone!
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Welcome to my first blog post of the school year. I am excited to share with all of you my experiences here at Northeastern University. You have probably read a brief bio about me, but let me give you the full story.
I am from Western Massachusetts in a small town called Wilbraham, MA. It's a great town to grow up in, but after a while, I got sick of our annual peach festivals where our "town barber" is Mr. Peach (...don't judge...). When I was doing my college search, I was looking to go to a more active campus that could keep me busy. I started searching through colleges in the Boston area and fell in love with the city. In the end, Northeastern was my top choice. Hopefully you will notice why.
I am a dual major in Computer Science and Mathematics, which is a degree housed under the College of Computer and Information Sciences in the University. I took a few computer science courses in high school, and enjoyed the topic. Technology is an excellent field to work in as it is used everywhere in the world! I feel that it is a field that is continually advancing so fast. It's going to be a continuous learning process, but I definitely enjoy it.
I am heavily active on campus! I am a part of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) as the events co-chair, which takes up a lot of time. I tutor two of the freshmen courses in computer science. I was also an Orientation Leader this past summer where I shared my experiences to the incoming class. Whenever I have free time, I am all around Boston exploring new places and trying new cuisine.
Enough about me! I hope to get to know about everyone who's in the whole college applying, making a decision (I know all of life's choices in one year) thing. Please leave a comment introducing yourself, your possibly planned major, schools you are looking into, and whatever else. Ask any questions you'd like! I will do my best to keep in touch. It should be a fun time.
