First Post of the New Year
First of all, Happy New Year! I spent the new year in Boston, which was pretty awesome seeing all the activity happening. I'm sorry for some lack of pictures as I am not really one who thinks of bringing the camera. I'll remember it one day!
I moved into my new residence hall, Stetson West, since I am beginning my new job as a Resident's Assistant (RA). Stetson West is a very common freshmen residence hall. I'm sure those who have visited the campus have seen its atmosphere and rooms.
As an RA, I have some responsibilities. I have a group of residents who I encourage to get to know each other, and get involved. I also am responsible for handling issues such as roommate conflicts and lockouts etc. I put on programs that students can attend that can be of many different flavors (such as social, spiritual, cultural, etc.). Most of all, it is my responsibility to make sure the students are safe and having fun.
Classes have started already. We start back very early compared to most colleges, but I laugh at them when we get out at the end of April. So far, I am enjoying them very much. They are definitely keeping me busy.
I hope everyone had a nice vacation, and that they have a wonderful semester. Seniors! The application deadline is very soon I know, so don't miss it! Once it is all over, you can relax a little bit!
