Not so much of a Spring Break but Good News at the End
It's been a while since I posted last. I had a very busy (and somewhat unexciting) spring break. I went home for the first weekend to help my parents move out of their house (they are downsizing since all the kids are out of the house). I had to go back to school on Sunday because Monday through Thursday, I had an interview each day for co-ops. Overall I had 7 interviews and received 5 offers! It made me feel really good about myself. It was a very tough decision, but I finally made a choice. Afterwards I went back home to finish helping my parents move out.
As all of you are probably curious, I finally chosen to work for the MITRE corporation, which is a non-profit corporation who is responsible for three of the five federally funded research and development centers. It's a pretty big company, but I will primarily be working on their internal software (top secret). MITRE is placed in the top 100 places to work, and the atmosphere is very friendly. They offered me a lot of chances to learn and grow, which is ultimately the purpose of co-op. They are stationed in Bedford, MA, so the commute by public transportation is crazy (at least 1 1/2 hours!), so I investigating having a car on campus or carpooling.
You can find out more about MITRE at http://www.mitre.org. Feel free to ask me questions about the job or the process. I will answer to the best of my abilities.
In other news, I arranged a Caribbean Food Night in Stetson West the Wednesday before Spring Break. There was a ton of food including four different types of chicken, rice and beans, plantains, mangoes, and more!

hey Ken-
I'm a student at the University of New Haven, pursuing a bachelor of science in sound recording, and I'm currently looking to transfer. I decided to come to your blog because out of all of them, you would probably be able to help me the most. My goal is to learn the ins and outs of music recording, specifically the technological aspect, and eventually become a music producer. Do you think northeastern offers me what I need? thanks for your time
