Exciting New Things Happening Around Here!

Hi everyone,

This week I wanted to let you all know of some new and incredible things that have been happening on campus!

First off, we have a brand new campus! Revealed in August, it includes new lecture and seminar classrooms, new individual and group student study spaces, and my personal favorite, a brand new, state-of-the-art moot court room. It's completely stunning and if you want to see for yourself, please click here (disclaimer: these pictures were taken during the planning phase, so review them with a slight grain of salt):http://www.slaw.neu.edu/albums/2008/dockser-03/ .

Secondly, we have two new dual degree programs. They were both finalized over the summer, so we are still in the process of putting the details on our websites. Be on the lookout for more information. First, we have established a daul degree program with Brandeis' Heller School. This program will allow students to get both their J.D. and a Master's Degree in Sustainable International Development. Second, we have established a dual degree program with Vermont Law School. Under this program, students can receive both their J.D. and Master's Degree in Environmental Law and Policy - all in just three years. Very exciting!

Third, we have a brand new website that will be launched soon. I'm sure you cannot wait and neither can I!

Finally, we have new bloggers joining us this fall to give you alternative perspectives on life at NUSL...

So, those are the updates for now...if you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact me!

Hi Aisha,

First, I would like to tell you how much I enjoyed your talk at Northeastern's Open House/ Info Session in August. It was a pleasure to listen to all the wonderful things you had to share about the law school. You will be very successful.

I am graduating from Acadia University (Nova Scotia, Canada) with my BSc. in May, and I know Northeastern is the place for me. I am a resident of West Roxbury and I'm excited at the prospect of attending law school at one of the most respected law school in one of the finest cities in the U.S.

Let me get to my concern- I am curious, after much research, about the emphasis on work experience. I would love to work at the State House or the Boston YMCA but qualifications and opportunity is in question.

Aisha, I just wanted to bounce/process my law school application concerns. I understand you are very busy and I thank you for any assistance you may provide. Please take your time in responding. Thank you again.

Sincerely,
Margaret

Hi Margaret,

Thanks so much for sharing your concern with me. If you wouldn't mind, please email me at ai.collins@neu.edu. I want to make sure I fully understand your question before I respond.

Thanks so much,

Aisha
