Storming
Here is a cross-section of my thoughts of this week pertaining to THE Ohio State University aka a general update on my day-to-day:
How can I decide between majoring in zoology and anthropology?!
I can’t wait to get me into that Honors program aka Priority scheduling. I’m jealous that my roommate already knows her spring schedule, and I have to wait until the end of this month to schedule. I’m just as smart as she is.
I have never seen anyone shovel snow here. Or snow blow. Or anything. Someone’s gotta do it though, right? I know the oval has heated sidewalks, but I also know that 12th avenue does not. On that note, how many people must the university employ that no one ever really thinks about, like the people who clean the bathrooms at Mirror Lake? This place must have about a billion employees, myself included of course.
Racquetball is my new favourite activity. I just wish the system of reserving a court at the RPAC was a little…neater. Even if you reserve a court, they can’t guarantee they will have racquets available. I think that sucks. With all the money that I am paying to go here, I think they can afford a few more racquetball racquets. That’s all. It remains to be a fun way to get in shape though, even if I do totally suck.
Also, every time I go to the RPAC, I fall in love with it all over again. I love me some RPAC smoothies. And working out. And chillin’ in the sauna. Really, I cannot get enough of that place; there’s so much to do! No joke, that building is one of the reasons I decided to come here in the first place. If that makes me a freak, so be it. But dude, it’s such a cool place.
I want to take yoga next quarter.
I love it when my roommate leaves for the weekend.
Doing sheet laundry is a royal pain. Making the bed when my bed is lofted is the pits.
Working 5 days a week at Mirror Lake wreaks havoc on my meal plan. I changed it to the hundred swipe one at the beginning of the quarter and saved about $200, but I still have 70-something swipes remaining and the quarter is half over (!). Also, I almost want to write a letter to the Gods of the meal plan saying that it’s very difficult, if not impossible, to get my money’s worth of swipes and eat healthy/ not gain 400 lbs. I realize there are a lot of hungrier/ larger people than myself, and sure, I could just eat salad and soup every day, or eat at the RPAC everyday, but I like to mix it up. I don’t feel that cereal and an orange is worth 7+ dollars or however much each swipe is really worth. Can’t wait to live off campus next year.
Speaking of, I have yet to know for sure where I’m living, and I feel like the hourglass is running down. But I will get into that some other time/ when my housing plans for next year are set in stone.
Classes are sweet. I actually like learning, imagine that. French is way cool. Anthropology sometimes blows my mind. And econ is very practical and logical.
Lastly, sleeping remains to be my number one.
Time to nap.
GO BUCKS!
