Pausing the Race

Only a month and a half left until we’re back in Columbus! Most of my friends are getting ready to head back to college in the next 2-3 weeks...then there’s that sad month we’re no one is left around here but bored, lonely OSU students. This includes my early September birthday, which is kind of a drag turning 20 with no friends here.

At least I’ll be able to make some more money at work. My job at the pool is weather dependent, like really weather dependent, as in anything less than 70 degrees and scorching sun and I’m staying home. This means cash flow for the next year is lower than expected, since I've been staying home all week, ugh. At least I found out today I get 20% discount on my books next year because I was a Beanie Drake Scholarship Finalist (although the scholarship would’ve also have been nice).

So now all that’s left is the long countdown and planning for next year...I’m looking into some student jobs (hopefully ridiculously high paying), and volunteering at WOSU, the public television station. I’m also planning my schedule for the next three years to make sure I get out on time...it’s what we worried undergrads like to call the “race to the finish line. Hopefully it doesn’t go too fast.
