Today (and by that I mean Friday) I accomplished a few fairly blog-worthy undertakings, so I figured I’d just break down my day for you in a random potpourri entry.

I had social dance class today…if you haven’t taken an EDU PAES class at OSU, I really recommend it. These are fun physical education classes, like ping pong or ice skating. Anyway, I danced ballet, tap, and jazz up until I graduated high school, and I was always intrigued by my sister’s competitive ballroom dancing team, so I decided to give the class a shot. I had my doubts, but it has really been a cool experience, and I’m really looking forward to trying out my new dancing moves one of these days! I’ve been trying to step outside my boundaries a lot this year, and this class definitely helped with that. Dancing with complete strangers can be awkward, but once you get over that it’s such a blast!

I shot my Buckeye 19 News story today…crime on campus. It was originally crime on South Campus, but crime has been popping up all over the place here. I shot it at North Campus by Halloran House, where the armed robbery in the dorm room just took place. It was really hard to get a quote from one of the residents about their personal safety. I would’ve been able to give a good quote…I have been really concerned about my safety on campus lately, and it has made me rethink walking around at night. I feel like the university is making positive changes, like the policing station they’re building on 11th, but the fact is that these crime events stay fresh in my mind, and this is a worry that will not go away as long as I’m in Columbus probably.

On that note, I’m getting ready for one of the best times at OSU, Beat Michigan Week! I’ll probably be on hose duty at Bradley Hall on Mirror Lake Night, so stop by and say hi and get hosed down if need be. GO BUCKS!
