Stormy Weather
Well, Buckeyes, we beat Michigan again! Thank goodness! It’s a relief, to be completely honest.
But most of all, it’s actually pretty nice to be done with football season, because 1) it means I’ll actually start getting things done on Saturdays, and 2) it means the first quarter is almost over!
Sure, it’s a fun quarter, but after 10 weeks, it gets a little old. Plus this means that I will no longer be a first quarter RA…I’m pretty proud of myself for making it through the first quarter, it’s kind of like graduating to that next level.
Even though I hate, hate, hate Winter Quarter (I actually made a Facebook group all about I hate it AND it’s coldness), I’m taking quite the course load. Anthropology H200, Economics H200, Communications 321 Public Speaking, and Theatre 367.01. This is more major academic classes than I’ve ever taken at once in college. It’s also more Honors classes than I’ve ever taken, and they are topics about which I know nothing. At least I had a little heads up for my Shakespeare H220 class this quarter.
But actually, the idea of that is pretty exciting. This year I find myself more and more getting into the academic excitement of college, the sheer joy of becoming more educated. I know nothing about Anthropology or Economics, but instead of being worried and discouraged like I would normally be, I’m really looking forward to gaining new insight! Who knows, maybe that insight is enough to get me out of bed and on the cold road to class in the mornings? I guess we’ll see.
