Oh winter break…I feel like I’ve had an extensive “To Do� list since September, so this might just drive me crazy. My excuse for a car pretty much died at the end of summer, so getting around won’t be easy. Plus I have no where conveniently to go, since I moved a city away from all my friends before I started college. And my mom works during the day, so I’ll pretty much be sitting around watching the paint dry, which is a lot different to what my entire quarter has been like.
Sure, at one point I made doing nothing a hobby…but since I started this RA job, I actually thrive on responsibility and productiveness…something my friends who’ve known me for awhile find hard to believe.
I used to think I could watch TV for an entire day (and sometimes got close), but now I’ve turned on the TV only a few times all year. And I’ve gotten used to it. So what does this mean for winter break? I’ll probably take some time for myself to work out, play music, clean up around the house, and get ready to apply for internships. I might even pull out (gasp!) a book or two…(this would come as a major shock to my English major mother and sister, who gave up on my ability to be insanely obsessed with reading like them a long time ago).
As for this weekend…I’m still hanging out in the residence hall until tomorrow, and it’s almost completely empty, like it was when I first moved in. And it’s completely peaceful, like it was when I first moved in. So I’m going to milk this weekend for all its worth and celebrate making it through this first quarter with great success!
