Of all the intersecting lines in the sand.

Microwaves can be exciting if not used as specified by their manuals. Nuke bananas (they smell like banana bread—go figure), ketchup packets, and extra-large paper airplanes for unreasonable amounts of time. Oh—and Rubik's cubes.

Yes, Tim put his Rubik's cube in the microwave.

It…exploded—within a few seconds. And smelled pretty bad. But it was hilarious. And some good did come out of it: it has been preserved as a sculpture (in much the same way as my broken 4x4 cube). By the end of the year, we're going to have a massive collection of Rubik's cube sculptures.

At around 1 a.m. with the temperature hovering around 40 degrees, we decided conditions were perfect for outdoor tennis. Not only did we play tennis, but we played tennis with a soundtrack. 1 a.m. tennis, 40-degree weather, music—it was freaking amazing. What made it even better was today's being the end of DST: a free hour of tennis. So really, playing tennis had an opportunity cost of zero; whoever says there's no such thing as a free lunch is obviously unaware of senseless government policies.

Sometime in that basically nonexistent hour, I realized that tennis is the only sport in which a player can say the score and spread the message of hippies at the same time—love all, anyone? I think tennis deserves recognition for that. I also think I deserve a break for this entirely irrelevant observation for being trapped in a government-instituted vortex of space-time.

Although it may seem that I've been doing nothing productive this weekend, I can honestly say I have. I started working on my first article for The Lantern as a freelancer, and I "started" my English homework. I put quotes around started because all I did was read the directions for the exercises.

But that counts, right?

I'm going to have a lot to do today…where are those extra hours when you actually feel like not wasting them?
