Only the moon was shining back.
My high school canceled classes today; it was too cold, I guess. But me? I actually have to walk outside, in the cold, to all my classes. And now it's snowing. A lot. And it's not supposed to let up till there's 4-8 inches on the ground with a sheet of ice over the top. Better yet—I have an 8 a.m. class and no boots to get there.
I've missed my 8 a.m. class, psychology h100, more times than I'd like to admit. Mostly it's because I'm not a morning person. Even if I set my alarm for 6:45 a.m., like I always do on these days, I remain in a state of alarming disorientation till about 9, when I finally realize I've been hitting snooze on my alarm clock for over an hour and proceed to mutter a profanity to myself. I'm determined to avoid this tomorrow—and by tomorrow, I mean today, because it's almost 2 a.m. already.
I joined an Ohio State mixtape exchange group on Facebook. I decided it's finally time to make a serious effort to expand my musical tastes. Oh, and I kind of want to force mine on others, of course. But, anyway, it's really hard to narrow down what I want to share so it can fit on one CD. Sure, I could make two, but I'd still have trouble narrowing it down, so I'm sticking with one.
I've got a tentative song listing started that includes my staple bands—Muse and Arcade Fire—and then mostly indie music that no one's ever heard of. This is me trying to pretend that I'm a music connoisseur. And that was me pretending I knew how to spell connoisseur without referencing a dictionary.
I…should probably sleep.

Arcade Fire is AMAZING! What other bands does "indie music that no one's ever heard of" entail, since that happens to be almost exactly how I describe my musical taste?

The Comas, Earlimart, Iron & Wine, RAC, Jon Brion, Andrew Paley, Explosions in the Sky—among a few other more well-known songs. And yes! Arcade Fire is unbelievable! :-)
