Spin me around again and rub my eyes.

When I went to check my email today, my eyes were immediately drawn the message with the subject that read, “AMIS H211 Admission Decision.” For a second, I hated how generic and attached it sounded. The email was just as plain—completely empty of any signs of responsibility, of any direction to point the blame—but I only got as far as “Congratulations!” before I sat back in my chair, relieved.

My schedule for autumn in going to be fantastic, to say the least: classes on only Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and all in the same building, Schoenbaum. I’ve been told the courses I’m planning to take are weed-out courses, which scares me a bit. They’re all classes I’d need to take eventually, so I guess I shouldn’t avoid them. I’m taking Accounting H211, Bus-Mgt 330M, and Bus-Mgt 331M. Even if they are difficult, I always have Tuesday and Thursday set aside for recovery.

I’m officially the Content Editor-in-Chief of Fisher Ink. I know I said a while back that I would get to this spot someday—today’s the day. I’m really looking forward to being in an editor position. I get my own writing staff to thrust story ideas upon and I’ll have my own “Editing Manager” to assist me with the job. The best part of this is that I will only have to write stories if they don’t get done, and I’m not expecting that to happen with me in charge. :-)

The warm weather is incredible. Not a cloud in the sky, refreshing breeze—it made for a great run in running club. We ran downtown today, which is my favorite run, even though we do have to stop a lot at stoplights. People on the streets give you a lot of “Run, Forest, Run!”-type remarks, and you really want to punch them in the face, but it’s not something I’d suggest doing.

I’ve knocked out two of my three midterms this week. Econ went surprisingly well. Our professor made only a few changes from the study guide he’d given us for the exam, and since I looked it over before the exam, I had no problems. I had my stats exam this morning and it was very, very easy. I never go to lecture—who wants to get up for a 9 a.m. class?—and, yet, I’ve learned everything I needed by going to recitation, where we always do group work. Tomorrow I have anthropology, which will be the hardest exam. There’s a lot of material—little of which I know—so I will definitely be studying at some point today. But not until it gets dark and the opportunity to play Frisbee has closed.
