And it's hard to know how to get home.

Well, it's here—the last week of classes. And then come finals. But let's not think about that horrible fact right now and, instead, focus on how quickly this quarter flew by, how quickly this whole year went. I remember coming here in the fall, not really into the whole OSU-spirit thing, but now that it's about to end, I want nothing more than to run up and down 17th Street yelling "O-H!"

I'm sitting in Oxley's right now. I have an anthropology quiz in 30 minutes—a quiz I'm supposed to be studying for. But I've lost all motivation. I didn't get to sleep until about 8:30 this morning. I went out at about 5:30 a.m. to just walk around campus, use up my many remaining swipes, and go to Panera. (Their dutch apple bagels are fantastic.)

OSU feels so different in the morning. Even on High Street, there are only a few cars, and the only pedestrians up were jogging. As I've recently developed a running addiction, I loved it and wanted to join them, but I knew I was too tired and sore from running only a few hours before. But that's beside the point. What this morning reminded me of was my second day on campus.

I moved in the day before the official move-in day—mostly to avoid the chaos and watch from the sidelines. So when move-in day came, I was up early and bored, of course. So I went to explore campus. I got lost. I somehow ended up in the medical center region, which is basically just a mess of dead ends. It took me a while before I got my bearings and was able to figure out that High Street was "that way." So I walked and walked and thought I was going the wrong way and that I'd never make it, and then I did. High Street was glorious. I went to Panera that day; it was the only time I've been there besides today. And maybe that's why I thought of it this morning. But it was also the smell of campus, and the calm—it's all so different in the morning.
