Football Fever

“If you don’t like football, why come here?” This quote reverberated in the place we had our convocation where more than 6,000 students were seated. Football is one of the most… No, it is the MOST famous sports in Columbus. I figure that Asian guys (including myself) tend to not enjoy playing and watching football as much as people in the United States do. Other sports like baseball, soccer and basketball are far more popular among Asian guys (especially those guys who’ve never been to the US for a good amount of time). I didn’t even know how the points were scored and how the game was played before I came to Ohio. But as I watched it with my friends, I found the fun of football. We’ve just beaten Penn State 37-17 today, yeah! (Go Bucks!). On Saturdays (Football Game Days) a lot of the students and other people will dress up in scarlet and gray and watch football. When there is a home game, the stadium is always full with the wave of red shirts. If you are an international student, you may consider watching some football before coming here, although you will eventually find the fun and the excitement out of football yourself.
