Are We There Yet? Part One: Summer Edition

Ok.

Maybe it's because, as I write this blog I am fully and painfully aware that I will have to go to work for a grueling 9 hours today (7 p.m. to 4 a.m. baby!) that I'm really starting to get a little bit anxious of returning to OSU. Like last year, I have sooooo many hopes of what will come! I want to do more, see more, live more! I think frolicking in the oval would be a nice place to start. Anything sounds better than flinging taco meat around (and I say that with reasonable limitation, of course).

Sigh.

I do like my job, even though my blogs are a bit deceiving towards that notion. I like to work in a fast-paced environment most of the time, because I find it exciting and challenging. I like most of the people that I work with a lot and did I mention that I get free food? I especially like that part of the job (although the consequences might not be so favorable on my tummy.) To top it all off, I get a paycheck! I think I'm supposed to get payed next Tuesday, and that should be an experience on its own.

Hhmm.

But besides the paycheck, the taco meat, and everything in between, I've been thinking about what I want to do for next summer. I've realized how much power I have to create a truly amazing summer, but in order to have options I have to plan ahead. Soooo, right now I've developed a few ideas.

Plan A: Get an Internship. Why? Because experience is golden! I think that it would really help me onto making progress in my career path and even if I don't choose that particular field in the longrun, the lessons that I would learn could be useful anywhere I ultimately choose to go. I especially hope to land one that's not in Ohio, or at least not in my hometown.

Plan B: Work for OSU Orientation. Why? Because my orientation was one of the highlights of my summer. There is nothing more exciting then a bunch of young people getting excited about their future. I would like to help get our freshman ready to one of the best times of their lives as a college student!

Plan C: Stay in Columbus! Why? Uuum, must I even explain? Columbus has so many opportunities! I could go to concerts, shop at Easton or on High Street (I love Urban Outfitters!), eat at cool restaurants ,all while working and possibly taking some summer classes.

Plan D: Study Abroad. Why? I would always get wee bit jealous when people would describe their week or even month long rendevous overseas when the only place outside of America I've stepped foot on was Canada (which until I was five that I realized it was another country). I feel that one of the best ways to grow and learn about yourself is to step outside your everyday surroundings. Then you can deepen your value for your roots and appreciate those who are different from you.

Hopefully one of these plans will actually happen! Just thinking about them gets me excited!
