Seawolf Pleasantly Surprises, Silversun Pickups in the Flesh

Yesterday I got to see Silversun Pickups--one of my favorite bands currently--LIVE!!!! This was actually my very first concert, but that's not the only reason why it was a memorable event (but I'll get to that later).

That day was pretty much the BAD day of the summer, so far at least. I walked for 30 minutes in the hot, humid weather and I was so out of it that my surroundings looked like a Picasso painting. Nevertheless, I made it to work but only to find out that someone took my shift (yay!). Unmotivated to walk home, I managed to get a ride from my best-friend (smile). From there, things seemed like they were going to pick up.

When I got home, I looked for a ticket after taking care of the few little tasks around the house. Then I looked so more. And some more. A half an hour past and I began to panic. Where is my ticket?!. I was afraid that I would damage the ticket or lose it, so I put it in a very good safekeeping place---but apparently I was a little too successful in this endeavor. I could not find it. I had been looking forward to this concert since the beginning of summer and I knew that I would be extremely annoyed if I stumbled upon it later.

After making a frantic call to my boyfriend to calm my frantic nerves, I did find it. Success!

I had never been to Frankie's, the venue where the show was located. For a while the weather is fine, but when we were let in I felt as if I had been smacked in the face with hot air. It's a really small place, so when people began to fill in the air got severe. But I had a really cool place up front and I didn't want to give up.

That turned out to be a huge mistake. During the opening band's set, the air was humid but not too severe, simply because people were spread out on the floor. Seawolf turned out to be a really, really good band. We were told that we would have to wait 30 minutes till SSPU would come out.

Great.

I was already evaporating. Somehow, between watching the set up, talking to the guy next to me, and taking swigs of water, I started to NOT feel well at all. Next thing you know, I'm waking up on the floor surrounding by a cluster of red-lighted faces. I was whisked away outside and given a cup of water. One of the men who worked with SSPU felt so sorry for me that he let me sit on the steps of their tour bus (soooo cooool!). But I got to see the concert, and it was really good!
