OSU: A Cultural Haven For All

It's kind of sad how I am writing a blog on a Saturaday, right? I mean, you're probably thinking, "geez, you should be out living it up (legally)! What are you doing sitting in front of your computer on a Saturday night?" Well my friends, that I do not know. I was actually planning on going gallery hopping today, but my plans changed.

But, my weekend will not be at a loss.

Although I have an ultra long RA meeting tomorrow ( a grueling 2 hours long!), right after that I'm going to skidaddle over to the Mershon auditorium at the Wexner Center and attend the Pornography debate. The leader of the XXX church, which has a ministry geared towards those who have addictions to porn and the infamous Ron Jeremy will duke it out verbally to see if porn is an art or just plain nasty. Although I have my own opinions about that touchy subject, I look forward to the discussion that will take place.

There are also some other things that I have marked in my calendar that I can't wait to check out. My lovely boyfriend bought tickets to see Feist live again at the Wexner Center's Mershon auditorium on November 18. She is one of my new favorite artists, besides Bat for Lashes and a host others (and isn't her ipod commercial just totatlly endearing?) And also, November 20th I am going to hear hip hop business mogul Russell Simmons speak. This shall be interesting.

The amazing thing about this is that these are only a FEW of the stuff that usually goes down here on campus. A lot times you have to keep your eyes open and check advertisements in various medium to get the 411 but it's totally worth it. My goal is check out as many venues as I can. Maybe I'll see you there. ;D.
