Couple of Concerts
This passed weekend was concert-filled for me. I first went to the Ludacris concert on Friday and then sang with my Gospel choir for our annual Spring Concert on Saturday.
Ohio State is great for getting the biggest talent for the biggest school. Ludacris came to OSU two years ago and made his return last week. And what was really great about it all was that it was FREE! We can bring the big names for free concerts since all students pay the Student Activity fee of $15.
Chamillionaire came and performed as well, he did alright, but everybody was ready for him to slide off the stage and make way for my A-town's own. The concert was at our Schottenstein Center so students didn't even have to go far. The concert was cool. It lasted from about 8-10pm and Luda did almost all his songs. So it was a packed out event.
The next day I sang with the African American Voices Gospel Choir for our concert. It went really well, and we had a full house too. We sang about 10 songs and had our Mime and Dance teams perform. I'm a part of the Dance team called "Dancing to Zion" and it's a Praise dance group that performs with the Choir.
In this picture we were at a Conference downtown at the Columbus Convention Center.
AAV (African American Voices) is a great organization for people who love to sing and love God, and No you don't have to have the best voice. You can chill in the back like myself or be in the front with a solo. I sing in the Soprano section, but the Altos tend to dominate.
AAV is open to all ranks in college as well as all races. Although it's African American in the name, the group is not limited to that. We have a couple of members from other races. Check out our site for more info: aavgc.org
So that was my weekend, full of song and dance!
Here is the Choir at the Concert from a photo that was in our School's Newspaper today. We
were in our Retro theme at the time.
