Rise and Whine
So I have a 1:30pm class for a reason: so that I don't have to get up early! Not that I'm not a morning person, it's just that the later my day starts the more time I have to prepare for it. I found that when I would have early classes like 8:30s and 9:30s, I would find myself up at the crack of dawn trying to finish homework assignments and super ready to take a nap as soon as I returned to my room. Now does that make any sense?
A lot of people prefer early classes so that the day gets started earlier, and I for one used to be an advocate of the early class, and now I realize that the only reason I was a supporter was because as a freshmen and even as a sophomore, I could never schedule the times I wanted. Of course underclassmen get lower priority and the Athletes, Seniors and Honors students get the top. Seemingly unfair practice, but it feels good to be on the opposite end now! I used to rush to schedule my classes as soon as my window opened (or time that each student is given to schedule becomes available) so that I wouldn't have to be on the waitlist for a class.
I met with an Academic Advisor (http://ascadvising.osu.edu/advising) on Thursday at 8:30. I was earnest in trying to get a later time but that's all my advisor had left open so I had to take it. I did not have to meet up with an advisor, but I do every year just to get someone to doublecheck my courses because I don't want any surprises my Senior year to find out that I won't be graduating on time.
The next morning I was up early to be at my hair appointment at 9:00am. I actually made it there on time since it was about 15 minutes away toward Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and I was able to study for my exam under the dryer, and then was back in my room by 11:00, which left enough time to do some last-minute studying before my 1:30 Midterm.
Saturday, I didn't have to rise and shine too early, but since I went to sleep at 5:30am, getting up at 12:00pm seemed equivalent to a 6 am wake-up call. I was down in the Dorm Lobby talking to friends all night to the wee hours of the morning, not realizng I was going to take a practice GRE at noon.
There was a free practice test offered on campus, and even though I really didn't feel like getting up and taking it, I knew that it would be very beneficial, and plus it was only practice! So I went and took the GRE and thought it was way better than the SAT since that was like 4 hours long with constant math and verbal sections, while the GRE was just 2 hours comprised of 2 essays, 30 verbal questions and 28 math questions. Although my score was not the best, I was so glad that I was able to familiarize myself with the exam so I'll know what to expect when I start applying to Graduate schools.

My early weekend concluded with me going to early morning service at church on Sunday. It was at 7:30am but I made it there about 8am. I wanted to go to church early so that I could go to the "Jump Off" or Campus Church service held in the Hale Center. I also wanted to get some down time before I did the Buckeye TV News Show 2:30-6:00 and then went to the Lantern newsroom to finish some stories later that night.
Oh the life of a Journalist never ends!!!
