New Year, New Change
CHRISTmas break is officially over; I had a nice one too and accomplished most of my break goals except for getting my bible study lessons together. The only quasi-homework assignment I had, and I still couldn't get it done in over 3 weeks. I did manage to read 1 chapter of the material so that should help at least with getting the first Bible Study meeting together.
I finally checked out my grades online (buckeyelink.osu.edu-where we view our grades) and I made the Dean's list again. I'm excited that I got an A in History after pulling all that super last minute work.
I shopped till I dropped literally this season since I was in the mall for hours getting gifts for the fam and friends, especially since Macy's closed at 12:00am!

Me in the Shoe Department waiting for my sister. Check out the Christmas nails!
My family's Christmas Party on Dec. 21 went well except that on that same day, we got a call that my Grandmother had just passed away. Now that's news that no one wants to hear over the Holidays. My mother actually took it better than I expected. I thought we would've had to cancel our Party and everything, but she said that would have probably been more work. My grandmother was 92-years old, had no disease or ailments and passed from natural causes. So she lived a very fulfilled life and lived around the world (since my Grandfather was in the Air Force) before coming to Ohio to live. I guess it really worked out that my sisters and I chose to attend Ohio State, because we got to see my Grandmother a lot. She lived in Westerville, which is only about 20 minutes from campus, so in hindsight, I wish I would've visited her more often. You just don't think that any visit could ultimately be the last and take life for granted.
So my break in Hotlanta ended early, and we came to Columbus, the day after Christmas. The Funeral was on Dec.29; it was a nice Homegoing Celebration and felt more like a Family Reunion. It still hasn't really hit me yet that my Grandmother is gone, and she was my last grandparent living since my dad's mother passed my Freshmen year and both my Grandfathers died in 1995 a month apart. But they all lived exemplary lives, and all I have to do is uphold the family legacy!
2008 came in with the snowfall, which I expected from Ohio. I really didn't make any New Year's Resolutions, I just set some long-term goals: like I plan on preparing and taking the GRE, applying to Grad school, keeping a high GPA, and balancing all my activities better.
