Voting Day

Yes! All my Winter classes are done forever, and I can go ahead and VOTE today. I thought this would be a good story for Buckeye TV so I got a camera and went to the Jesse Owens South Recreation Facility or the "J.O." as most students call it, since it was a campus polling place. Other than the heavy rain, many had trouble voting because they said you can only vote in your district. So if you lived on North campus, don't dare try to come to the J.O. on South because you would've got turned away. The officials almost wouldn't let me vote because I didn't have an Ohio driver's license or a bank statement to prove my address, but I was in fact regisitered there, so they let me vote.
This proved to be a good story to report on because it could help prepare a lot srudents for the elections in November. A law professor came in and regulated, and told the polling people that all students were allowed to vote anywhere, they just wouldn't be able to vote for the lower court races when most just wanted to vote for the presidential candidate anyway.

Yesterday was my last Bible Study of the quarter. To cap off our Finals Prayer Night, I ordered a bunch of pizzas from the P.A.D. (Pizza At Drake) I parked at one of the meters in front and ran in to get the food. No more than 5 minutes later did I come back to find a nice little ticket on my car conveniently placed by OSU Parking.
Moral of the story: Always park in your designated lot even if it's for a couple of minutes. And if you're going to park at a meter, do yourself a favor and put some money in it. No matter what you do, know that OSU Parking is always watching!

It was time to fill out the FAFSA again. So I called my mom up all last minute to get her tax information so that I could reapply for the funds. It can be such a headache, but at least it does help in the long run come tuition paying time. This should be the last time I have to worry about the FAFSA, that is unless I still have to fill it out for grad school.

I got to lead a break out session at the USG Diversity Conference this weekend. The Undergraduate Student Government hosts this conference every year and it's called "Bridging The Gap." The goal of it is just that, to "bridge the gap" between all races, ethnicities, and gender at Ohio State. There were sessions about religious diversity, hate crimes, and I led the one about stereotypes on campus. It was a nice and informative conference, but it seems that only people involved in USG or diverse organizations ever come. I've attended it every year, and that was by far the most people at "Bridging The Gap," but our goal is to really reach out the entire University.
