My Memorial Day and Closing out with the Choir & the Newspaper

Last weekend I went back home as I do every Memorial Weekend, and my sister and I drove the big 9 hours. Since I was busy all that Friday doing a last minute news story for Buckeye TV, we didn't even leave Columbus till 6:00pm that night! So you can just imagine how it was arriving in Atlanta around 3:00am. But we had a nice time back home going to Graduation and birthday parties, my home Church, and of course all the cook-outs! We tried to take off a little earlier around 4:30pm on Memorial Day so it worked out that I had an 11:30am class so that I could sleep in after getting back around midnight.

This week the Gospel Choir had an End-of-the-year party where we watched old videos of our concerts, fellowshipped and ate. It was a good year with the Choir, we continually went on numerous trips like every weekend, from Cincinatti to Cleveland and if we weren't out of town, we always had a concert or praise dance performance to do.

I am actually kinda glad that I didn't apply to be a Lantern Editor for next year because right now I am so tired of writing articles! Maybe because it's the end of the year, but I got so behind on stories and conducting interviews. I lost all my drive and got Senioritis without even being a Senior! This will definitley be my last time in The Lantern class. Although I do like to report and all, writing over 15 stories a quarter is a little steep for only 1 class. I did manage to finally finish my feauture story on: What To Wear at an Internship this Summer. I got a full spread picture in the paper again and modeled a sample outfit of what to wear with one of my friends.
Here's the story:

So now that we're down to the final week of class, there isn't enough room in the newspaper to run all the stories I've written. We still get credit for writing them for our grade, but it sucks since you put in the time and don't get the shine. The Arts Editor said that only 1 of my 2 last articles can make it in the final paper of the year on Friday. So I was caught in a dilemma over which story to choose? Both groups I interviewed keep contacting me about when the story will be in the paper. So now I have to break the news to one of them....And the winner is: the story about this new play featuring an all-African American cast. The other article I wrote was about a fashion show that all the fashion design majors participate in.

So here's my last story of the year!
