Start of my Summer

It's been so nice to be back in Georgia and to hang out with my family and old high school friends. My favorite part of the summer time is staying up alllllll night long and then waking up late in the afternoon. Atlanta has definitely been an awesome transition and break away from the tasks of college life.

To take my cares away even farther, my mom and I drive down to Hilton Head Island Beach in South Carolina. It's right along the coast by Savannah, Georgia so it took us about 4 hours to get down there. I haven't been to the beach in so long...maybe not since my Senior Trip 2005 to Panama City! So this was a reunion for me and the ocean. We went down on a Monday, so the beach was not as crowded. It's amazing how we have always been so remotely close to this beach and never ever decided to make the drive down. I guess after you master the big drive from Atlanta to Columbus, you can just about do anything!

I haven't swam in years and was able to get my old stroke back, but only in the pool because the ocean waves were massive. I went boogie boarding for the first time in years, and it was almost life and death trying to stay on the board!

When I got back from the beach, I just enjoyed the final days of my summer beginnings because I was going to be right back up in Columbus in no time getting my internship started. On my last day, my sister and I went to the movies and saw the Incredible Hulk, (which was a good movie to me although most people thought it was weak) then we went to the fabulous Lenox Square Mall where so many people are dressed up, that just jeans and a T-shirt won't cut it with these fashionistas! And lastly, we went to a restaurant nearby the mall called Houston's (most people think it's Whitney Houston's spot, but it's not) and we saw none other than Flavor Flav eating there with his new wife and baby!

What an awesome break away at home. Looks like it will be back on the road again for me tomorrow, but at least it won't be for classes this time....NBC, I'm coming!!!
