There is nothing, NOTHING, that compares to the Ohio State University on gameday. The campus is awash in a sea of scarlet and grey, and if you're not wearing the only colors you should be on a fall saturday in Columbus, you're bound to get called out. No matter where you are on campus, everyone has common ground: diehard love for the Buckeyes. As far as the actual game is concerned, the streets are emtpy. One hundred thousand plus fill the Horseshoe, and everyone else is packed into the bars, restaurants, and houses around this storied football town.

It's nearing the hour, the hour when I and 100,000 of my closest friends pack into the 'Shoe and scream for four hours straight until the Buckeyes win. I can't believe this is the last time I get to do this for the 2007 football season. Now what am I going to look forward to all week? Oh well, all good things must come to an end (and there's always next year:-)) Go Bucks and of course: O-H

Oh yes, Creed, I can take you higher. This Sunday, as a member of the 2007 USG Intern Class, I got to try and kill myself climbing in a high ropes course at Camp Lazarus, just north of Delaware. There really is no mixer quite as effective as placing your lives in the hands of those you don't know to bring you together.

For the uninitiated, when you tackle a course such as this, you must rely on the four others in your group to belay you - that is to say, they are the only thing keeping you from falling straight to the nice, soft ground if you should lose your footing. They are attached to the rope that is attached to you; they keep you on the course and shout encouraging words that you can barely hear over the chattering of your teeth.

Basically, the course consisted of 3 areas: a rock wall (newly stocked with loose stones), a vertical playpen (complete with rope ladder, tires, and the gym class rope from hell), and a free fall jump from a pole to a trapeeze bar. Truly glorious. All in all, it was a really good time, full of fears overcome and new friendships gained. I guess what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger, though next time I would recommend taking it a little easier on the murder part of the cliché.
