busy bee

Things have been pretty busy — both in Cincinnati and Columbus. Like some animals can smell fear, it seems professors have the innate ability to sense heavy workloads. The very second one professor assigns a paper, the other four must follow suit.

Work for me in Cincinnati is in the midst of its busy season as well, as it is for anyone in the plant industry during spring. And I must say the lovely weather we've been having (more often than not... ) makes working outside one of the highlights of my day. It's safe to say our farmer's tans are getting quite amazing by this time. Though that may not be something to boast about...

Social life (ha, as if I have time for a social life... ) is also picking up pace. A lot of my friends in other colleges have finished finals and started their summer vacations already and don't seem to understand that we at Ohio State aren't quite there yet... To them it seems like blasphemy for me to even mention having to write a paper while lying out by the pool.

Several other friends of mine have also made trips home, although their journey took a little longer. A few of my friends in the army have made the trip back to Cincinnati while on leave, many of them to be re-stationed in Iraq after another month or so of training. Which, of course, makes Welcome Home parties a Must on my To Do list.

In the meantime, though, I must be getting back to work. For all you other busy bees (cheesy, I know, I know... ) out there, relax, breathe, and think about the time in a few weeks when you'll be the one lying out by the pool.
