characters
One fact that holds true between college campuses and the "real world" is that there certainly are some different and interesting people out there. If you look closely at the inner-workings of any business or class or club you're bound to find enough characters to write out a pretty interesting book.
Take my old teen co-worker who goes professionally by the name of "Gimp." During the day, you could usually find him wandering around with a watering can and smiling absent-mindedly as he went about his work. But as the doors closed and the night lights came on, his watering can suddenly turned into an imaginary microphone as Gimp gave the rest of the employees working overtime a rap concert, complete with actual autographed CDs.
And Gimp hangs out with Good a thirty-something year old man with a farmer's tan who looks remarkably like a furry hobbit while walking around the farm in a pair of overalls with his cheek stuffed singing song lyrics ranging from "don'tcha wish your girlfriend was hot like me" to "you gotta know when to hold em, know when to fold em..."
And Good hangs out with Jordan a twenty-something year old tall blonde who has muscles, tattoos, and the ability to put together a flower arrangement and tie a bow better than I can.
And Jordan hangs out with me (no need to go into my differences…) and sitting here, watching people go by Mirror Lake cooing at the baby ducks, I find myself very grateful to be going to school and working with so many different characters. Someone really should write a book.
