not the most exciting time of the year
Before I get started, is it alright with everyone if I just don't talk about last weekends game against Illinois? Thanks.
Not mentioning the fact that my phone rang every two minutes from my so called friends at Illinois, the last weekend was been pretty busy. One paper I had to write was on a book we read for my Spanish Literature class....and I really had no clue what to write about. There was one topic we discussed in class, but besides that I really couldn't find any symbolism, metaphores, themes or anything else to write about. Even now, with my paper due tomorrow morning, I'm still looking at about five pages of me pulling paragraphs out of who knows where and one page that still needs to be pulled.
My other four classes seem to keep adding to the load on our backs, as well. Although I did find out the other day that one of my Spanish classes that I'm taking--one that one of my councelors suggested I take for my minor--doesn't count toward the honors minor (which I'm working towards). That's like the fourth class councelors have told me to take that I've found out doesn't count towards anything I want it to count towards. I guess I can't really blame the councelors, with all the student they see, but still, I'm trying to graduate ASAP and it would have been nice to to have wasted a quarter. Word of advice: make sure the councelor you're getting advice from knows exactly what you want and is giving advice in the field they specialize in.
Now that the quarter's on the downhill slide right now, life seems to be getting more hectic, but not necessarily more exciting. Actually, with the endless hours of studying for exams, final projects, and papers without topics, I can't wait for break and something a little more exciting to do than Spanish linguistics, (no offense if Spanish linguistics is your thing...different strokes for different folks...) which actually that reminds me that I should be studying for that exam tomorrow....ugh...I can see this is shaping up to be a thrilling night already....

You know what...I think that's exactly what I need. Any advice as to where I can find such a squirrel?
