A Summer in... Texas?
So, rather than working at my father's camp this summer, I was encouraged to seek employment elsewhere. It's for my own good, my mom tells me, to branch out and experience things a bit more outside my comfort zone. The place that fit that description best: Texas. Forest Glen Camp in Huntsville, Texas, to be more exact.
Ok, it's hot down here. And it's a fact that nine days out of ten, it's over 100 degrees... in the shade. No lie. It's also a fact that one day out of thirty, it *might* rain. Might.
But now that I've got my griping about the harsh weather out of the way (my mom said it was in the mid-70s in Michigan this past week...sigh...), I am truly blessed to be here. It's been interesting: rather than ministering to inner city, at-risk children from Chicago, I've had the opportunity to work with a more middle class population of kids. Both have their difficulties, both their blessings, and it's been a blast getting to know their struggles and allow God to use me to bless them and draw them to Himself. Everyone needs Jesus.

Representing the Houston Rockets!!!

This is a bit crude... but I needed to demonstrate just how intensely stinkin HOT it is down here!
