Over the years...
Over the years I have developed a deeper appreciation for art history and the impact of architecture on historical and contemporary communities. This semester I am planning on leading several tours of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Modern Museum of Art (MOMA) and the Frick Gallery in New York City.
This past weekend my family attended the James Michener Art Gallery’s 20th anniversary celebration in Doylestown, PA. I learned an interesting connection between the development of toothpaste and plein air painting as developed by Camille Corot in the nineteenth century!
One of my favorite authors over the past ten years has been Dr. Neil Postman who has been an education, media, technology, and social critic. I also enjoy many classic books. I recently finished I, Claudius by Robert Graves, and I am in the final pages of part two called Claudius the God. These books are based on the autobiography of Emperor Claudius of the Julian Dynasty in Ancient Rome.
