Hey everyone... my name is Heather. I am from Lockport, NY, right near Niagara Falls and Buffalo. I am a Senior here at PBU in the Dual Degree Counseling Program. Random fact about me... I love to make weird faces at people, especially if there is awkward eye contact!

"I'll be a dandy and I'll be a rover, you'll know who I am by the songs that I sing..."

What an appropriate title for my blog about camp... well, really only the "you'll know who I am by the songs that I sing" part. Spending a week with 8 Jr. High girls you sing a lot of songs... I actually sang this song that I am using for my titles this summer as a lullaby to my cabin one night, just like my mom used to sing to me.
I am not sure how many of you have ever been to camp or worked at camp, but it is exhausting! You know what though? It is all worth it! Here is a picture of my cabin of girls bunkhouse%203.jpg I love them. We were also teamed up with a guys cabin to form a team... want to know what our team name was? Yeah you do... it was the "Flatulating Platypuses" We were the best team ever! flagulating%20platypi.jpg The girls in my bunkhouse made a banner for the team, and then in return, the boys made us a little stick and ducktape flag, so here is a picture of my co-team captain and the boy flag nick%20and%20flag.jpg. Nice flag huh?
You know how God teaches us little lessons all the time, if we are willing to look for them? Well, during this week I kept being reminded that we are all a work in progress... and that is ok.

It is only a few more weeks until school starts up again... You never think that summer is going to go by as fast as it does. Tomorrow some friends from school are coming to my house to stay the weekend because two of our friends are getting married on Saturday, its definately weird when your friends start getting married!

"...ere, I forget all the joy that is mine, today."

So... its been forever since I wrote last! At least it feels like it! I have done so much in between my last blog and today.

Since I last wrote...

I went on vacation to the Adirondack mountains with my family...
Here is a picture of my brothers waiting to leave, it was a little early in the morning for a Saturday. ready%20to%20leavebrothers.jpg And here is a picture of Long Lake from our cabin view%20from%20cabin.jpg
We decided while we were up there that we were going to climb/hike up Blue Mtn. Let me tell you, it was tiring! So this is a picture from the top of the Mtn, top%20o%20the%20mtn.jpg and here is one with me in it as proof that I went up it...proof.jpg
We went fishing a lot while we were there too... I should rephrase that though, my family went fishing a lot and I often went with them and read a book on the boat or learned about fishing from Grandpa... on one of these little fishing excursions Grandpa had a little visitor... its a dragonfly, can you find it? grandpa%20dragonfly.jpg Here is a picture of my Uncle Scott on the same trip... explorer%20uncle.jpg
There was another day that we went and it RAINED! fishing%20in%20the%20rain.jpg
and let me tell you... it is not pleasant to be on a boat in the middle of the lake while it is raining, trying to read! So here is a picture of my brothers on this excursion SINGING in the rain before we began fishing singing%20in%20the%20rain.jpg
I think it is a very cute picture :)
We did not catch very many fish... or I should say, my family did not catch very many fish. Although, we did catch something that we don't normally catch... and it was the biggest catch of the week our%20new%20captured%20friend.jpg
It was a snapping turtle who thought that of the few fish we did catch he might help himself. I thought he was cute, but I know not many share my opinion...turtle%20cooler.jpg
We also kept ourselves occupied at night, here is a picture of one night that we had a Chinese Checkers Championship (like my alliteration?) chinese%20checkers.jpg
Another night we bought icecream and I had my own little ice cream parlour heathers%20ice%20cream%20parlour.jpg

It was a very relaxing trip... and if you have never been to the Adirondacks, I think you should go! Enjoy God's creation... marvel at His creativity and originality. I am always struck by it... as humans we try so much to create something original.. but we never can... its all been created and all we can come up with are poor imitations. So take a trip outside and enjoy this free art museum that our Creator has provided us with! lake%20and%20rocks.jpg

Well... a few days after the trip, it was off to camp for me. I became a camp counselor for Jr.High week at Niagara Bible Camp. I think I will put that in a new blog though... I feel like this one is probably long enough!
