I’m Janice! I hail from the wonderful (but relatively unknown for some reason) little town of Flemington, NJ — home of Liberty Village Premium Outlets and the courthouse where the Lindbergh baby trial took place. I’m a transfer student, majoring in Social Work & Bible, and I’ve finally made it to my senior year! I may be a TKD black belt... but I’m terrified of bugs.

Oh the weather outside is frightful..

Will the excitement of waking up to a SNOW DAY ever fade? I suppose it will, eventually........ you know, when out in the real world. But that's still another year or two away!

I remember it like it was yesterday. Mainly because it was yesterday. Ahem. Like I was saying... my alarm went off ridiculously early and the moment I heard the voices (my alarm clock talks) I promptly hit snooze and threw the covers over my head. I stayed like that for a few minutes before flinging myself out of bed, inwardly hitting myself for signing up for an 8am class when I KNOW I'm not a morning person. Then, the most glorious thing occurred. I peeked out the window to check on the weather when I realized there was snow on the ground -- could it be? I wondered as I rushed over to my laptop..........
I nearly fell over with excitement when I read that all day classes were canceled due to ugly weather. The texts started flooding in: "CLASSES ARE CANCELED!" "DUDE THERE'S NO SCHOOL TODAY" "AHHHHHHHH SNOW!"

Ah, yesssss (:

Happy (Korean) New Year!

There's nothing quite like the first day of the first full week of the semester. It kind of makes you want to crawl back under the covers for good as the realization that there's ELEVEN (give or take a week or two.. or three) more weeks of this hits you quick and hard. Not much unlike Chuck Norris' roundhouse kick.

Kidding (:
This semester is going to be a great semester. I CAN FEEL IT.

Anywhoooo, like my title says, today is Korean New Year! I actually just got off the phone with my mother -- I had called her to wish her a happy new year, but before I could say anything she beat me to it and was all "YOU KNOW TODAY IS NEW YEARS, RIGHT?" When I told her that's why I was calling she laughed and said she had actually forgotten until she called [this office] earlier this morning and had wondered why they weren't picking up the phones :P suddenly the text she sent me this morning (asking why [this office] would be closed on a Monday, of all days to be closed) makes so much sense...

On this note, I leave you with this darling picture: it's an older picture of one of my favorite-est boybands, SS501 (pronounced double-ess-oh-gong-il), wearing traditional [male] Korean clothing called hanbok

Dear Friends..

Long time no update! Well, in my defense -- this break has been rather crazy.
The past few weeks or so have been jam-packed with Christmas (and the hustle & bustle that occurs this time of year), wedding prep, the wedding rehearsal, the actual wedding, New Year's, a college group retreat, and on top of the initial chaos~ we have family visiting from Korea. Phew.

Let's take a peek (:

Christmas Eve: (at my Uncle Kyuhyun's house~)
Countdown till the wedding: 3 days! On this night there was no cooking involved whatsoever.. as is customary to tradition, the bride's family sends food to the groom's side! Needless to say, we ate well x)

Christmas Day: (at my grandmother's house~)
A handful of relatives convened at my grandmother's place for food and presents! The star of the day was my niece, Kiyon, cute as a button as she carried around a giant stuffed animal that was about as big as her :P

The day after the rehearsal: THE WEDDING
(no pictures at the moment~)

Happy 2OO9!
More relatives gathered at my grandmother's place once again to do "sae bae"~ where the younger bow to the elders and wish them luck in the new year. In return we get a little pocket money ;) ~oh, & and how disgustingly adorable is Sophia?!!

Day 2 of 2OO9: College United Retreat
One of the games we played involved stuffing a pair of socks into a stocking, pulling it over our heads, and swinging it at people (who also have stockings on their heads) trying to get it caught with one another and thus pulling the stocking off of the other person. Erm... yeah. Those are stockings that you see over everyone's heads T-T

And J-term starts up tomorrow. Hooray!
