I’m Janice! I hail from the wonderful (but relatively unknown for some reason) little town of Flemington, NJ — home of Liberty Village Premium Outlets and the courthouse where the Lindbergh baby trial took place. I’m a transfer student, majoring in Social Work & Bible, and I’ve finally made it to my senior year! I may be a TKD black belt... but I’m terrified of bugs.

We~ are the champions, my friend!

Today the last episode of a drama I have been following for the past few months finally aired, leaving me feeling a little lost :P isn't it funny how we get so attached to people and characters we only see on-screen?

Moving on. I wanted to post the news as soon as I got back yesterday, but I was insanely tired for some reason and simply crashed. Where was I, you ask? I'll tell you even if you didn't ask:yesterday I attended the Philadelphia Regional SIFE Competition~ where we were champions! Yay. Looks like PBU SIFE is moving onto Nationals! :D
With that said, I need to mention how awfully proud I was of our school yesterday. Honestly I don't know how to word my thoughts without seeming too biased.. so I'll say something like:
There was no inadequacy to be found within/amongst our team -- and really, it's almost a silly thought to think that a SIFE presentation could "move" a person, but I was touched. Throughout the day I was able to watch a handful of other schools do their presentations as well. I am going to say that every body and every other team in attendance put their best foot forward that day. Then I am going to say that it was through this very experience that I realized just how amazing our team is<3 kudos to you guys.

And my statement will end here, before I say something that really gets me in trouble :P

While the award was being passed around (after we won it, of course) the kid sitting next to me discovered that it made for a pretty shadow on the table. So I took a picture.

Would you look at the time!

Sources tell me it's going up to a glorious 60 degrees tomorrow! Ahh!

The other day in class it was brought up that there's only x amount of weeks left of school. I forget the exact number because there was a disagreement... but anyway, the fact that there is so little time left caught me by surprise. I mean, didn't I just graduate high school the other day? Apparently not. Which is scary beyond belief.. I don't think I'm quite ready to be a grown-up just yet!

(then again, I think I was supposed to be one all this time?)

Four years of university, folks. I changed my major a grand total of three times before I finally heard the Call loud and clear. I made the most interesting of friends, I realized who wasn't much of a friend. I have friends that are married or very close to such. My hair has gone through some crazy style changes (I'm surprised I still have hair after all I've put it through). I've had the privilege of having professors who are exceptional and I dream of being like them one day. I "plugged in" my talent in a completely different way than planned. & without a doubt, I learned more than I intended to :P

This list could go on for awhile... but to process and record everything that has occurred over the past four years would take another four years~! Give or take a year or two.

Post-Spring Break

My sister played Belle in her high school production of "Beauty and the Beast" recently (: and after each show, the audience was given the chance to go up on stage and meet with their favorite characters and get their autograph as well. Needless to say, my sister was swamped by little girls (many who were wearing their own princess dresses!) for her autograph, awed that they were meeting "Belle"~

It was cute. No lie.

My spring break! Oh, what did I do.. hmm..
For a few days, I went down to Atlantic City with a good friend. We were desperate to see the ocean~ and so we saw the water, got close to the water, took pictures by the water........
But alas, it was faaaar too cold to go in the water. We would have come stumbled back out with hypothermia or something as equally unappetizing! It was alright though, instead we did a whole lot of shopping. We walked the boardwalk about a million times, explored the outlets, ate ridiculously well, took the longest shuttle ride known to man, held intense karaoke sessions during the wee morning hours...

It was the good life! & I enjoyed it thoroughly~ unfortunately, when we returned home I came down with a killer cold and spent the rest of break holed up under my covers.

Life happens, my friends.

Short story time!

Scenario: you encounter someone who knew more than you did.. despite the fact that it was your "area of expertise"

I was giving a tour the other day, when I stopped to talk about a particular painting -- well.. it turned out that the people I was giving the tour to already knew about/of the painting. Heck, they even knew the person who PAINTED it (and were able to pinpoint specific people within the painting)! Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised :D it was one of those moments where you receive more wisdom than you give.

(not that my tours are full of wisdom-bits or anything of that sort. Mmhm)

I heard it's going to be warm this Sunday

Yum. A newcomer in Financial Aid was sent an edible arrangement and she kindly shared the goodies with us :D it was pretty fantastic. No lie.

You know what else is pretty fantastic? The amount (tons p/month) that PBU recycles has upped itself since January! Really, I wonder why we didn't do this sooner.. clearly we are adept at this recycling business~

Oh! Spring break is also so close it's practically falling upon us! Just overhearing some conversations floating around campus, it looks like a lot of people are planning extravagant trips! If only I could shell out the green and spend a week in Hawaii.. that would be ideal. Instead I have been searching pictures of its beautiful beaches and wistfully staring at my computer screen~ with the random cold weather we have been experiencing as of late, who doesn't want to run away to sun and fun? WHERE ARE ALL MY SPONTANEOUS PEOPLE AT. LET'S GO.

I wonder how efficient Hawaii is at recycling. Is there any need for SIFE to go there? At all? (because I'm in. Already.)

Oh where has February gone..

Happy March 1st!

This weekend has been quite eventful, in the most non-eventful way. On Friday I attended the women's basketball game while helping out with the food drive that SIFE was hosting. Both were fabulous and to make the night even better, I won one of the raffle drawings at halftime! (sort of.. the statistically-impossible happened before I was technically chosen)

Saturday was reserved for studying, homework and other important things -- well, important things did occur but they did not include studying or any sort of homework. Funny how that happens, eh? Even though I was a tiny bit bummed that I did not accomplish anything I had hoped to finish, at the same time I could not complain because my time was well spent with people make it worth the while. So I have a little more work to do on Sunday night -- that pales in comparison to the precious time I spent cultivating my friendships. Busy work comes and goes and gets finished, but friendships hopefully last you a lifetime (:

(sometimes I think I would love to work for Hallmark)
