Normally I love Tuesdays...

Normally I love Tuesdays and Thursdays because I only have one class. At 9:15am I rush back to my room, turn the heat on, and go back to sleep until 11:30. It’s wonderful. Tuesdays however I spend the evenings at jazz and then work, so Tuesdays can be stressful even with my little nap! So today (Thursday) was glorious.

This week is “Spiritual Emphasis week” at PBU and the subject is “solitude”. This morning I decided to spend fifteen minutes just praising and thanking God for everything in a completely silent room. Those fifteen minutes reminded me of everything I’ve been blessed with and helped me complain less, and all around put me in a good mood.

After some homework (a lot of homework) my roommate and I did some laundry and picked up our room. It was a mess! We are always messy and as weird as it sounds we like room check because we wouldn’t clean it if we didn’t have to. I have put some pictures of the before and after shots below it’s kind of funny how messy we are.

Every Thursday at 8pm Heritage Hall Wing two girls have “thirsty Thursdays” it’s just a great time. We all get together and talk about the week and we also drink coffee or tea. We use this time to tell funny stories and just catch up with one another. Sometimes college gets so busy, it’s really nice to have this fun break once a week to spend with the girls.

Tomorrow I have musical rehearsal and my ministry “Urban Hope” it’s going to be busy but totally awesome!

Hello 2008

After an amazing Christmas break I’m finally back into the swing of things at school. This week is going to be stressful with the cultural awareness chapel that we are doing next Monday. We have practices everyday this week for our chapel on Martin Luther King Junior day. I’m really nervous about speaking in front of the whole school but I know that God will be with me and He’ll give me the right words to say in order to leave my peers with a positive message about diversity.

I’m also really excited for Jazz Ensemble to start up again. We are down two drummers and a guitarist but the sound is improving and with a smaller group we can better get to know each other. I just found out that this semester we have 4 or 5 concerts at different locations. Some of them are coffee shops and local bookstores. It’s cool because through jazz music we are sharing the gospel and entertaining our audiences at the same time.

On top of all this I just found out that I’m in the musical! YEAH!! We’re doing Oklahoma and practices start so soon.

So it looks like this semester is going to be hectic but I know that with God I can do all things. I just have to make sure that I make time for my homework and try not to put that last. God has opened up so many doors for me this semester and I can’t wait to see what else He has planned.

Check Back for more updates!

Lynn
