OKLAHOMAAA where the wind come sweeping down the plain

I can't believe that the show is in two weeks. I feel like we only just had that first read through! It's really turning out beautifully and I can't believe how far we've come. I was really bummed about this show because I am in the ensemble. This is my first ensemble role and I was very upset that I didn't get the lead. and when I say upset, I mean I WAS DEVASTATED!
But now, I'm just enjoying singing/dancing and being able to watch the other characters develop.
It's something I really didn't get to do before (joking around backstage, or making friends with everyone in the play) ensemble members really get all the fun in the play if you think about it! God has really shown me through this that its alright not to be a lead and that all the characters are important. Big and Small you're needed in the production. I'm thankful for all of the new friends that I've made and all the silly inside jokes that we all have now.

The Musical is April 10, 11, 12
I'll update more about it next week!

Being Culturally Aware!

Today the Cultural Awareness Club met with the President of our university to discuss our role in the student body and other things! Dr. Williams really is so brilliant. All of our needs and concerns for the school were his as well. It was as if we were on the same page with every issue. It felt so good to know that he thought our causes were important and after the meeting we were all psyched haha

The missions statement for cultural awareness is "to create an accurate picture of the diversity in the body of Christ by fostering a environment of appreciation, awareness, and acceptance of all cultures"

I am so excited to be apart of this club and I'm so blessed to be attending PBU in this wonderful time of change!

Happy Easter!

Yesterday my family celebrated Easter because I had to return back to school today (Sunday). It was literally so much fun! The food was amazing and being with family is always a treat. We went to my Grandmothers new house. Her house was decorated so beautifully, it was the first time I'd seen it since she moved in so getting the tour was really cool.

This weekend I thought a lot about being thankful and remembering how important and special Jesus' death and resurrection is. I am so thankful to have a place to eat on easter and a family to spend it with.

Rip Goosey Hello hole in a tree!

Today my friends (Tristan, Ian, Jared, Jen) and I took a walk around the pond to mourn a dead goose.
The weather has been harsh so I guess poor little goosey just couldn't take it anymore.
On the way back from the goose funeral we examined a hole in the trunk of the tree near the pond. This hole was just the right size for my friends Ian and Jared, so they decided to check it out!

Sad to see this break go

This morning I woke up and it finally hit me that Spring Break is over. It's so depressing. Break seemed so short and I definitely could have gone a few more days. I relaxed a lot and slept in every single morning. I went shopping but didn't buy anything and I played with my baby cousins. Obviously, I hung out with Susan and Paul. It was a great time for relaxation and de-stressing. Thankfully, Starting classes wasn't as hard or painful as I thought it would be. Hopefully I can just keep on truckin' until SUMMER babyy!
