Start Spreading The News

New York New York!!!

My friend Jenna's birthday landed us in the Big Apple
Going to the wax museum, taking a horsey ride around central park, and seeing a show on Broadway!

At the wax museum we saw plenty of fake celebrities. I even got a picture with my favorite (Britney Spears). It was really fun and even though it was kind of bizarre we laughed A LOT. It was kind of cold in the morning but as the day went on it got beautiful outside. After the museum we went on our horse and buggy ride through central park. I've never seen a park so cool before, the other girls saw Leo DiCaprio just riding his bike. oh it was so cool I felt like a celebrity too. Our driver was from Dublin, Ireland and he had the coolest questions. I ended up asking him questions just so I could hear him speak.
Finally it came time to to see my favorite musical SPRING AWAKENING
On our way I described the plot to the girls and they got more and more excited
As we sat in our 8th row seats (yes 8th row!!!!) we saw the sets and got even MORE excited
when the show started I just knew that everyone was going to love this show
and I was right because at the end, everyone was so impressed.
After the show we went to Jenna's favorite Italian restaurant.
Everyone had thick Italian accents and were willing to serve us whenever we wanted. It was insane and the best food i think i've ever had in my life.
This weekend was fantastic I loved every second.

Sleeeep Over!!

Just what I needed after a LONG LONG week
the best weekend EVER
starting with the Urban Hope sleepover at Cassie's.
I got two hours of sleep but who cares, it was the most fun SERIOUSLY
Our boys came for a bit and we watched enchanted and made smores. They tasted fabulous and i think it's because I hadn't had them in a very long time. We sang really loud and danced all night.

I can remember just starting Urban Hope
just going because everyone else was going and it seemed cool
The second I got there I fell in love with the atmosphere and the kids
Urban Hope really has this amazing vision for the kids of Kensington
it's amazing to watch them grow in Jesus Christ.
at first, it was hard to read these girls and hard to get to know them
now I feel like I have a whole bunch of little sisters who I'd do about anything for.
I really thank God for bring Urban Hope into my life

Debrief

Last night was debriefing for the musical. It may have been the last time that the whole cast will be together. I've been in a good number of plays and this cast by far is the tightest. The meeting was bittersweet because I'm so happy that it's over but ill really miss all the time that we got to spend together. It's so cool to see how almost 25 strangers became a family. The chemistry between us on stage was undeniable and we owe it all to God. He gave us the talent to perform, the maturity to work through issues, and the ability to love and work with each other. If any of you blog readers out there are thinking of being in a musical or a play I definitely recommend it, you will make amazing friends and form unbreakable bonds!

Oh what a beautiful day..

Tonight was the last night of the musical and today was my BIRTHDAY. It was really an amazing day I love the cast of Oklahoma and I am glad that I got to spend my 19th year with them. Oklahoma was my 19th show on my 19th birthday so the cast got me a cake and some other silly things. It was very sweet. This performance was our best out of the three. Literally I felt the energy every step that I took on the stage. it was so positive and loving. I'm going to miss that cast a lot.

Ultimate Frisbee

Ugh! My body is aching. It hurts SO BAD. Friday afternoon a friend knocked randomly on my door to ask if I could play a game of frisbee. I immediately told her that I hate spots and that I'm a horrible athlete. She just laughed and told me that her friend's needed a girl to play or they had to forfeit. It had been an insanely long week and for some reason I knew that some fresh air would do me good. So I put on a black hoody (team color) and ran to the hockey field. The team gave me an overview of the game and I barely understood. All I could see was that the whole game consisted of running all the time! So the game finally starts and I'm running around the field like a chicken with No head. It must have been hilarious to watch. No one passed me the frisbee but I knew why. It was embarrassing, tiring, and I'm really sore but IT WAS SO FUN. I didn't think I was even going to like it but BOY I loved it. I'm still not sure why I like it so much but I decided to stay on the team and keep playing for the rest of the semester. My team is really cool, even though we lost 14-7. the other team had 7 people and we only had 5 so we were less powerful. Next time we will DOMINATE.

I love my ministry

Friday there was another youth rally in Kensington.
I was so scared because I thought I was going to be late.
I had rehearsal until 6 and the rally started at 630
we didn't arrive until 7 but thankfully nothing had started!!
When I got there the all the fun was just starting.
Youth Rallies are so much fun because it's not just one church
it's a a whole mess of churches getting together and worshiping the Lord
as one body of believers. It's beautiful and it really encourages the teens to see
other teens from other churches just as involved as they are. I was having the worst day on
Friday and Urban Hope really lifted my spirits. Jordan and I met a girl that recently graduated from PBU. Her husband rapped and gave a great message we chatted with her for a little bit and she talked to our kids a bit. It was a great night but I gotta go to bed soooon because
I have rehearsal at 9 AM!!!!!!! OH NOOOO

concert

Rachel, Jordan, Kate, and Me
Headed up to Doylestown to see one of Rachel's favorite bands play
"Envy on the Coast".
We waited outside for like 89787 years it seemed to get in
and though the weather was nice when the sun shined in the shade it was FREEZING!!!
The town was so cute it had little stores and the cutest houses. It was something out of a movie or a television show. Kate compared it to "Stars Hollow" from Gilmore Girls haha. After going to the bookstore we were finally let in to the venue. It was called Siren Records. Can you believe it the show was IN a record store. It was sooo sick and awesome.
There were a very diverse group of bands playing
a rap duo even performed. I must admit I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would.
A group played called "Brighten" they were extremely good and so down to earth. Jordan bought the CD and a t shirt we've been listening to it ever since. We also found out that they are Christians and that was also pretty cool. You should check them out http://www.myspace.com/wearebrighten
