My name is Lynn. I’m from Claymont, Delaware and I’m a Social Work student. Whipped cream scares me and I like the smell of skunk!

SNOW DAY!

A group of us walked to the new Dunkin' Donuts
around the corner. We braved the cold for some coffee
after sleeping in because classes were cancelled!

First Week

So I got through the first week of my second semester as a Sophomore!
I have to admit that I love ALL OF MY CLASSES!! (What are the odds that I would ever say that??). I ended up having to switch my schedule all around in order to get into a Social Work class called Human Development at 8am on Monday Wednesday and Friday. Human Development is like Psychology but more about a humans behavior and how they develop (I think that's what its about... I've only had one class). My Second class on MWF is Sociology and I really like my professor, I can tell she's going to be very interesting. I looked at the syllabus and all the papers that we're going to have to turn in are two pages long and the topics for us to write about are interesting SCORE! Class number 3 is Human and Cultural Diversity which is the study of culture and humans (obviously!) it's really neat to study our behavior and why we act the way we do and how we interact around different cultures. I really like the class discussions that we have about race and prejudice, I think I'm going to have new outlooks on everything when this class is over! My 4th class is WORLD CIV II. I was worried I would have to drop it but NO!! I'm taking it at 2pm with the same professor and I still intend on doing awesome. I already have reviewed my notes from that first class and we have a quiz on Friday and I'm gonna get a good grade!!! My 5th and final class is The Gospels and I have it on Thursdays for 3 hours :( but the good thing is.. it's not a boring class. The professor is so funny and makes things so interesting by telling stories that help us remember stuff.

Those are my five classes.
This doesn't include my two extra classes (Jazz and Opera)
I'll talk more about them later!

So as you can see I'm so excited about this whole semester
and I'm praying that my excitement stays so I can keep my grades up!

Pray for me?

... not really resolutions

So last semester... I was kind of a slacker.
I put a lot of other things in front of school work
and my grades really really suffered.
This semester, that IS NOT going to happen.

World Civ 1 was my hardest class last semester (or so I thought).
Because it was so challenging, I pretty much ignored it and laughed off my "F's" (yes F's) on the tests. I had a "oh I'll never get it" attitude, and because of that I was failing the class. Even my professor was really concerned that I was going to fail and he told me that I had to pass the final in order to pass the class. I studied my little bottom off and passed that seriously hard exam. so I passed the exam but I also learned a serious lesson. Being intimidated by a class is NOT an excuse for me to slack off. This semester I have world civ 2 with the same professor at 8am and I'm actually excited. I'm going to kick the booty of this class and PASS by working really hard. Passing that hard final exam showed me that it's not a waste of time to study and it feels so good to be rewarded for hard work!!!

World Civ 2.. You better watch out!!!

smalllest winter break re-cap ever

For some strange reason I can't just relax. I have to keep going and going... It's kind of lame because this break flew by so fast and I'm not sure I relaxed enough. December 13th to now has been lovely and I'm so thankful that I got to spend a lot of time with my friends, family, and my boyfriend! I even saw my girls from Girls Inc. and spent the day with them. Christmas time really is the most wonderful time of the year and I feel so blessed. God has put wonderful people in my life. I even went to Tennessee to meet Dan's (boyfriend) family.
