Hey everyone! My name is Trevor. I am from Mt. Holly, NJ in Burlington County. I am in the Dual Degree Social Work Program here at PBU. I’m also a piano player and have been playing for about 15 years. I play for the PBU  Gospel Choir, which has been a blessing. The Lord has also blessed me to be able to play at a lot of places over the last few years. I like to have fun, laugh a lot, and joke around. Random fact about me: I talk to myself and laugh at my own jokes. Okay, don’t laugh, I am an only child! Is that still weird?

VIEW DAY!!!

So, today happened to be view day. Now I guess it was actually funny because I didn’t know it until Thursday afternoon…oops…and I wasn’t even supposed to work! So, prior to me leaving the office, I pulled my supervisor aside, (big up Liane G. aka L.G., but not the phone brand) and simply asked her if there were any open spots that needed to be filled for this view day that I knew nothing about for some odd reason. She said, “actually, someone was supposed to do a tour but can’t because of volleyball and I just found out, how about a tour?!”

So I was actually a little leery about this one…lets do a back drop…(this is like the part when Mr. Scrooge is taken to see what life would be without him for Christmas)
The day is October, something, 2008, a little brisk, and my first view day tour awaits! I have been looking forward to this tour since I have been on the Nexus team.<--Latin for connection?
That’s what I was told…anyways…I always wanted to do a tour since I got my tour on view day prior to me coming to PBU, given by HEATHER B…aka…H. Britt. So I get a haircut, take a good shower, use the special ‘date’ soap, (the one that smells good) get my coffee and there I am ready for my tour. I had 8 people that I had scheduled for my tour and their parents, so I was looking at a good crowd. So they call my name for my group to come to me, and…3 people walked over…and one left! So here I was ready for 16-20 people, and I had 2…but still had fun…

So here I was leery, and actually decided, ok, lets do it. So this time I didn’t put on the best cologne, I just used the regular dove, but I did match my clothing at least…I walk in, and I had a solid 15 people on my tour. Gaynell Hill aka Geezy, came along with me and this honestly was one of my best tours. Conversation kept going, laughs, seriousness, cries, ok no cries…but just had such a blast. So, I will absolutely be doing the next one, APRIL 17, 2009 IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE CAMPUS YET! DON’T MISS OUT…GET YOUR NEXUS…;) and I will wear some cologne and use the date soap, and a hair cut! I might even match!

Thanks to all of my tourees ;) looking forward to seeing you at PBU! Grace and Peace-over and out

College Fair!

SOOOOOO, Today I got the opportunity to do something that was mighty major for me…I got the chance to go to a college fair as a representative of the school…(thanks to J. Glease, L. Yoder, and G. Hill) (I gotta stop doing ‘shout outs’ because I’m going to get in trouble…ANYWAYS) It was truly an amazing experience. There were 161 schools represented ranging from OSU, to Purdue, to Penn State, UPENN, all the way to PBU! Funny thing is, PBU was the only Biblical University there-coincidence? Well the fair was at Council Rock High School! It truly was an amazing time! Thanks a lot to the PBU staff that allowed me to be a part of this recruitment opportunity! Look at me at work on the picture!!!!!!

RESIDENT ASSISTANT....OR BUST....PART 2

SO, the moment I’ve been waiting for came. It was the day that we found out about the resident assistant position. This is the time we find out if the hard work, prayer, questions, interviews, and everything else paid off. Did it? I asked myself continuously, “Trevor, did you really put your all? Is there anything that you would have done differently? Are your motives for this anything that they shouldn’t be?” and after a self interview and examination, I feel that I passed my own self interview…the question is, did I pass resident life’s? eeeeek!!!….as the time approached, we were supposed to get out letters in the mail box in the afternoon, well, it was 4:05, and it still wasn’t there. As my disposition began to become a slumber, I walked away about as confident as beating a cheetah in a foot race. Something told me to go back to my mail box, then I felt the Dora the explorer song playing back in my head…ill let the song and the picture finish my story…OVER AND OUT

SPRING WHERE ART THOU? BECAUSE WINTER HURTS!

Once again, another snowy day!
In March I might add…so let me paint you this picture, follow me… 4:00 am…wake up, oh no, this isn’t good

4:45 am…wake up, but a giant pickle was chasing me…that’s a whole other story…

6:00 am…are you getting what’s going on now?

9:00 am…closed? Cool…back off to bed!

9:02 am…yea, I couldn’t sleep before, still not happening

10:00 am…so now this is where the day starts. Look at my car through the window and it looks like a 15 minute job without a scraper. Shower up, dry down, jump up, sit down, you get the drift…look at the car again,

11:00…yea, I’ll walk. Get to the campus, strolling hard, the wind blowing profusely, (<-- good word usage ?…wait, did I spell that right?...)and right before I get inside, the slipperiest, largest, most clear ice patch in the history of ice patchieness, <--My word, came from this snow cloud that followed me the entire way, grabbed the ground as hard as he could, and waited for me to almost do a back flip and then laughed at me! “Did I break something?? I asked as I looked to see what I slipped on, but at this point, every duck in the pond, every bird in the sky, and ever branch on the trees that were in the area were laughing.

Spring…where art thou? Because…winter hurts!

I do think that giant pickle that was chasing after me had something to do with it…

Trevor
