Hey everyone! My name is Trevor. I am from Mt. Holly, NJ in Burlington County. I am in the Dual Degree Social Work Program here at PBU. I’m also a piano player and have been playing for about 15 years. I play for the PBU  Gospel Choir, which has been a blessing. The Lord has also blessed me to be able to play at a lot of places over the last few years. I like to have fun, laugh a lot, and joke around. Random fact about me: I talk to myself and laugh at my own jokes. Okay, don’t laugh, I am an only child! Is that still weird?

The H.A.N.G. OUT update PT. 2

OK EVERYONE! Just like I said, here is a video recap of the hangout. It was done by a friend of mine named PeeDee. It is about 7 minutes long so WATCH ALL OF IT! :)

After the Pressure Subsides...

So after the hang out, I truly needed a vacation, a break, a time out! So that is what I did! By this juncture in reading my blogs, you might realize that I am just a sporadic person and just goes! So that’s what I did! After I woke up at 7:30 am on Saturday morning, I just got on 95 South and just drove…until I saw signs for Washington D.C.! it was a much needed break. I got to see some family, (Aunt Shari & Darnice, Dave, and the kids-see here is your guy’s shout out online! Ha!) Some friends from Morgan State University, a few monuments, walked through the Smithsonian Museum, and caught the metro. Now fun fact…the Smithsonian is not just one museum, all of the museums are the Smithsonian, but there are different subjects? I guess, I didn’t know that! Oh yea, then I went and gave my recommendation for the economic situation to the president over a light lunch with refreshments. President Barack Obama is a cool guy, oh and that little dog is a riot…ok…well, then I woke up on the bench outside the Lincoln Memorial and realized that part was a dream…but it really was an amazing time! enjoyed the time, the company, the family, the monuments, the weather, and even caught one of those guys that puts a little trolley on the back of his bike and rides you around D.C….SO LOOK AT SOME OF THE PICUTRES THAT I TOOK…GOOD TIMES! –UNTIL NEXT TIME GUYS!

Are you thinking about PBU?! Part 3!

So here we are again my fellow and fellet bloggers! So we will continue our series on ‘ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT PBU’ and today we will talk about the community building fellowship. One of our things in which our PBU community builds (just one unparticular that I’m involved with) is the intramural basketball league. So, I’m on the team ‘Squad Up’ and we have a decent team. This season, so far, our record is something like 3-2. Not too bad! I think that it is very fun and a good work out and all things like that, but for me, it’s a good opportunity to build relationship with my fellow brothers in Christ. It’s a lot of fun and learning about each other while I learn about myself at the same time. It’s truly a blessing just to be able to build and commune with brothers in Christ. Also, if you have a little team of 5 or so, and you want to run a little ball, oh please let me know…we’ll be happy to beat yall…then give you the gospel! HA! For now, this is Trevor, and I’m over and out!

Are you thinking about PBU?!?! PART 2!

OK...well, I might not get in trouble for this one...HA! but this is just to show how we have profs that are down to earth, like to joke, and love to fellowship with their students!!!!
Dr. Putnam (Left) and Prof. Tom Allen (Right)
Two of PBU's well knows bible professors teaching topics from Greek, Hebrew, Christian theology, Old Testament, New Testament, the Gospels, Romans, well, ok you know what I mean...
relax, they are not serious, they were doing a video shoot! ha!t.a%20and%20put.jpg

Are you thinking about PBU?!?!

Are you thinking about PBU? Are you deciding things about colleges? Would you wish you could talk to a real PBU student? Do you have questions that you would not want to ask a teacher but just a student that is going through the same things you will be going through?!?
WELL…I am your guy…Let me tell you a few things…from a STUDENTS perspective
If you are looking for a college where the Bible is taught with accuracy? Are you looking for a school in which even the liberal arts are Christ centered? Something that I personally like about PBU is that it showed me that we are called to be set apart. It doesn’t say that one thing is the right profession to do, but Christ can be shared as well as displayed in everything that is done! For instance, I am a social work major. I thought that I just wanted to do it to get a degree, well, as I stepped into the class, social work basics with prof. Lloyd Gestoso, the major was truly broken down for me with a lot of Biblical emphasis. The questions of ‘why social work’ were answered in a 18 week period, twice a week, for an hour and fifteen minutes per class. Social work was broken down from a Biblical world view and the reasoning’s why social work!
Are you looking for down to earth professors? Pastors? Teachers? Friends?
PBU truly has the most down to earth teachers. I never have had people to sit down and talk to about ANYTHING, having Masters and Doctorates, and still make time to laugh, cry, pray, and fellowship with you. Last year on our intramural basketball team (shout out to young gunz) Professor Tom Allen, a pastor from Bible Fellowship, was on our team. Another professor, Mr. Palladino who teaches out of the education department, had his wife come into of our classes. We were discussing men and women and the sociological implications of ‘roles’ between the two. After class, a few students sat down and asked them questions ranging from what do you do around the house, to what kind of foods do you like! This just shows how involved the teachers are with their students. The true fellowship and community that they intentionally build with their students…
THERE IS SO MUCH MORE…so, I will update this tomorrow, but do you have any other questions? Feel free to email me at Nexus03@pbu.edu
