Hey, I’m Tyler, a Pastoral Major from Glen Mills, PA. I graduate in May and leave for the Army June 25, 2009. I have recently become addicted to rock climbing, and I have always been addicted to rock crawling in my Jeep.

Getting lost in the woods...

So this past Saturday Carly and I went hiking in Susquehannock State Park which is just south of Lancaster. It is a little known park and only one other person was seen on the trail. Well, there are two problems with the fact that it is little known:
1) Trails are grown over in some parts
2) Trying to beat an incoming storm on an over grown trail that isn't marked well with bad maps makes it difficult.

Although we ended up taking the wrong turn God was good. We ended up following this Creek for a mile because on the map it met up with a different trail later on. Anyways following this creek ended up being the best mistake or idea ever. We ended up finding waterfalls and just a sense of being completely in the presence of God. Well, long story short we found our way back to the main trail and the last trail we took ended up being a hill shot. It was fun and we ended up sprinting up the side of the hill (around a quarter of a mile) after 4 hours of hiking throughout the mountain. What a great way to end the day.

I love hiking, anyways, here are some pictures from the hike and the drive back.

Jeeps, Engines, sweat and grease

So what have I been doing? I have been spending a lot of time working, working on Hot Rods and trying to get my competition Jeep up and going again. I will not be competing anymore because my sponsors didn't help with the gas prices and next summer I leave for the Army again. But I would like to start going to the trail again to work with my ministry some more.

This is one of the things I really love about doing, there is no feeling like being on the verge of rolling and still being able to pull it out and get through something that most people would never even imagine trying to drive through. Tons of fun and lots of opportunities to share your faith in Jesus Christ.

Enjoy the summer,

Adventures and pools

noname.jpg
Sitting at the top of a cliff by Millersville, PA. Going hiking out there was amazing, I got to get some great pictures, climb on rocks that were over 250 ft above the ground and hike up and down trails! I LOVED IT! I am hoping to do some more hiking later on this summer and the following year.

What else is new? Just training, working, doing ministry, working on cars, visiting friends and enjoying life every day.

Also, I had a thought the other week. The tree behind my garage (about 2 feet behind it) was struck by lightning and a large part was blown off of it. The following weekend I went swimming in my pool, my cold pool, and it got me thinking about when I was a CIT at Discovery Day Camp in West Chester, PA. I was 13 years old at the time and one day we had a nasty thunder and lightning storm. The pool got struck by lightning (probably attracted by all the toddler pee in it, but I regress) for a week straight the pool stayed above 89 degrees. It was amazing, I loved it. Morning swim lessons for my campers was no longer frigid swimming with blue lips but a dip in a hot tub.

And as I swam laps in a freezing pool that weekend after the thunderstorm I wished, as if I had blown out all the birthday candles, as if I saw the first star of the night, as if I threw a penny over my shoulder into the fountain, as if... well you get the point. But oh man, did I ever wish that pool was struck by lightning I could go for some warm swimming.

But now that I just got out of the pool today I think back to that week. It is 97 degrees out with 90% humidity... I wish my pool was colder... weird how things work out haha. I hope your all having a great summer! Cant wait to meet some of you this coming Fall, I will be the tall handsome guy (according to my Mom) in wing 2 of Heritage living with one of the RAs. Perhaps some of you will be in my wing.

God Bless!

ITS JULY! already?...

Wow! Is the summer flying by or what? It is already July and HOT... ugh is it hot. I have been, as many of you have been, annoying my parents to remind them why they enjoy the peace and quiet of me being away at PBU. I have been going to hot rod shows with my Dad and out to dinner with my Mom.
What is great about going home is seeing old friends from HS. Fun times such as this past Saturday I took my motorcycle to my friend's house and after 20 minutes standing around laughing and chatting their Mom asked for a ride on the motorcycle. So here I am giving my friend's Mom a ride on my Motorcycle when who pulls up as we are pulling down the road? Mr. Summers hahaha. All he said was "have her home before midnight and then he drove to the house." They crack me up.

I hope your all having a great summer and I look fowards to seeing some of you around campus. Stay out of trouble now.
