Hey, I’m Tyler, a Pastoral Major from Glen Mills, PA. I graduate in May and leave for the Army June 25, 2009. I have recently become addicted to rock climbing, and I have always been addicted to rock crawling in my Jeep.

Steak...

I haven't had it in so long! So I went to Redners and bought some London Broil steak, oh man was it good! Had some mixed veggies and a re-heated roll from Bertucci's it was an amazing dinner. I also had some fresh strawberries, so they really helped to cheer up my otherwise stressed out day.

I am having trouble right now with my MAC, my external hard drive won't register... bummer. I need to edit the video of messy game night to play in Church tomorrow morning but perhaps we will not be able to do that if this doesn't start working asap. What a superb Bummer.

Greatest Night of Ministry yet!

Wow, okay, so the best night of ministry has just be finished. MESSY GAME NIGHT! This was my 4th messy game night that I have taken part in. This, being the 3rd one that I have run and the first one as the youth director.

Well... it was messy to say the least, and although a few people are still working on getting Vaseline out of their hair a day later I think it was worth it. We had around 20 students come out and everyone seemed to have a blast!

Luckily since I was running the event I got to stay a little cleaner than everyone else, but next week I have to let the winning team pie me in the face. But it will be worth it because it was SOOOO much fun.

I don't want to admit it...

I don't want to admit it but I forgot my password for my blog haha. Sorry for my absence. But what have I been up to? Nothing really, working on home work for class, training for the Army and lately I have REALLY had the desire to go fly fishing. I have no idea why!

It has been a little rough this winter with the fact that every time I was planning to go snowboarding something came up that kept me from going... bummer. But in other news on Saturday we did a kids serve the parents Valentines day dinner and that really went well. The kids seemed to have a great time and the adults loved to have the kids dressed up and serving them.

This coming Sunday is messy game night. Oh, it will be disgusting, I will have to bring out my friend "Captain Splatter" for messy game night. Here is a shot of Captain Splatter from a past youth group. He is nuts! I met him a few years ago while preparing for a messy game night in the grocery store. He is nuts and enjoys seeing youth group kids get messy and having fun.

I will get some pictures of the messy game night up here some time or another.

R.I.P. Mr. Cell Phone

Well... it has happened, the phone that has lasted the longest for me in my life time has finally passed on. Don't worry, he went quickly. It lasted a staggering 7 months and in Tyler years that is around a decade. But I was lucky enough to get a Samsung SGH-a837 which is military spec in its protection so perhaps this one will last longer. It has GPS already in my plan apparently so we will see how well that works if I should ever find myself getting lost.

But lets have a moment of silence for the newly deceased red phone.

Heading home for the night.

I have been up since 4:30 am and I am feeling fine. This morning my buddy Jesse and I went to the YMCA to lift and attempt a try at racquetball... definitely not for me. We borrowed the ball and rackets from the Y and those things were in bad shape, we looked like two blind mice trying to hit a ball. But, it was tons of fun and I am sure if anyone was peering in the viewing window up top they were probably dying of laughter.

Got back around 7:30 am, showered, cooked breakfast and did some reading. Now I am about to head over to the school to get some more of my last requirements done for graduation! HOLY MOLEY I AM ALMOST DONE! It is really a strange feeling to know that in 3 months I will walk across that stage, shake a hand, get a piece of paper and that is it. My whole social status in this country changes from a student to a man with a bachelors degree... that is really strange to think about.

As long as I am in class or enrolled as a student I am still seen as just that, a college student, but as soon as you have that degree you are an official, no matter what, 100% adult. Weird to think about how a piece of paper changes that so quickly. But I know God has some big plans laid out for me in the future and I am excited to see what.

So off to school I go now, then i will take an afternoon nap for an hour because at 9:45 tonight I have an ice hockey game... wish me luck...

or just say good luck to the screen, either or. Anyways, have a great day and stay out of trouble... yeah, I am talking to you... stop looking around, your the only one sitting there.... haha later.

Elderly people rock at swimming

So... twice a week I frequent the pool at my local YMCA, I do a few laps... float on my back to catch my breath then do a few more laps. Meanwhile there is a man who is probably nearing a century doing laps back and forth for an hour straight! WOW!

And he was a really nice guy, we talked for a while after we both finished swimming (because men do that type of thing). He swims every morning for an hour to wake up, that is intense and a great idea. Although I get bored when I swim, I wish I had some water proof head phones so I could listen while I swam.

I really enjoy that I have time to relax and swim or lift and run and just enjoy myself at the YMCA (yes... I did start singing that and I am sure that you did too).

If you are visiting this website and are thinking about coming to PBU for a visit I would like to encourage you to stop in Becky Vasso's office, say hello and tell her all about yourself. Bring her a soft pretzel from the pretzel factory down the street or just a nice hug to say hello.

She is my boss and has been for the past 4 years now that I think about it. So take a moment, say hello. If you are not sure who she is, this is her. Yes, that is me to the left she is to your right. In the picture she is to my left but from your chair staring at the screen she is to your right.

I would like to leave you with a quote from Thomas a Kempis:
"It is vanity to wish for a long life and to care little about leading a good life."

That just hit me after reading it for like the billionth time (The Imitation of Christ) and I wanted to share it will all of my faithful blog readers.

butter arms...

Wow,

So at the recommendation from a buddy of mine I am trying out this new workout. It is only 4 days a week on weights but its a killer. Today was Tris, Back, Chest and forearms and everything you do is 30 reps a set and 3 sets. Instead of doing the usual 12-15 reps a set you double it to 30, no more and no less. You are supposed to burn out on the 30th one which is what I did.

After 20 reps the lactic acid starts to kick in and you can no longer feel the weight your pushing it takes a lot to get it up there for that 30th rep... ugh.

So now, I am making a patented Ty-wich which is different from my patent pending Meade-Wich. The Ty-wich is a toasted bagel (lightly browned not burnt) with pizza sauce on both sides (not a lot just enough for flavor), then I take some grilled chicken (thank you George Forman grill) and slice it into thin cuts and double stack it in a criss cross pattern. I then use some shredded mozzarella cheese and lightly sprinkle over the chicken slices then stick it into the toaster oven for 5 minutes to melt the cheese into all the cracks and holes between the pieces of chicken.

Then let it sit for 45 seconds and then enjoy. I bet you didn't know I could cook let a lone invent my own entries, huh? Well I can. Have a great day!

P.S. if you want to try out this work out it can be found here The workout from Hell

That is literally the name, its great! FEEL THE BURN!
