Whoa

I can't believe that I'm finished with freshman civ!
While I envy the sophomores, who are completely finished now, I'm still in shock that I'm halfway through it!
It was a lot of work, yes, but I have to admit that it helped me put a lot of things together. A lot of times, when you learn history, you learn it in snippets and the time line is broken in some places. I do feel that many events have been put in a better context for me; some things make more sense now that I better understand all of what was happening at the point in time.
I know I've mentioned this before, but I also related much of my civ material to lessons I was learning in other classes, which makes for great, supplementary information.

Still, I'm really in disbelief about this!
I am two papers and an exam away from being finished with my freshman year!

...Wait. What?

It's really crazy! Wasn't I just applying? Didn't I just have orientation?
The month of March really dragged by, but then all of sudden we hit April and it's been pedal to the medal ever since!
I can only imagine how the seniors feel!

Also, yesterday was the awards ceremony for ROTC. Pretty much everyone was recognized in some way and I was really impressed by how great everyone looked in their formal uniforms. Most people received a new ribbon to add to their rack!
So congratulations to all my fellow ROTC cadets on a great year and the well-deserved recognition.
Since I live so close, though, I'm definitely planning on coming back to see the seniors get commissioned as 2nd lieutenants in the US Army!

Until then!
