10:30 Mass & Hot Cocoa
One thing I love about PC is the fact that we have 10:30 mass, but not in the morning...10:30 at night!
It is so nice to wake up on Sunday morning, as late as you want, and know that you can still make it to mass that night after you've done all your errands and such. Personally, it is not just the time of the mass that I love, but mass itself. It is so cool to be in St. Dominic Chapel surrounded by all your peers who are not being forced to go to church, but want to be there. Most everyone is in sweat shirts and sweatpants, which you might say is not church attire, but for some reason, it works here. Nobody cares what each other are wearing, we are all just happy to be at church together at PC.
Also the music is fantastic and the homilies always interesting, and always geared toward what is going on in our lives. The friars don't talk at us, but instead they talk with us. So now on to one of the traditions Jaime and I have started here..10:30 Mass and hot cocoa in our rooms after! It may sound silly but we look forward to going to mass together and then chit-chatting with hot cocoa and finishing up our homework after!

Hey Hannah
The 10:30 Mass at PC sounds really cool. I was wondering if you knew anything about the Campus Ministry program and what ways there were to be involved in the Masses through Campus Ministry?
Thanks for your help!

Hi Kaitlin,
Thanks so much for commenting, I love questions! I do know some things about the Campus Ministry Program. For example, I'm not sure if you read my post about the Connections Retreat that I went on, that was sponsored by them and it was a blast. We had individual group sessions, played games, had spiritual talks - overall well worth it.
I also know that Campus Ministry has groups such as Habitat For Humanity which some of my friends are involved in. You have the option to go on Spring Break trips or just volunteer your time on a Saturday. There is also soup kitchen groups, Elderly Outreach, Children's Outreach, Special Olympics..there are just so many things that there is definately something for everyone!
If you want to get involved through mass they have opportunities for students to sign up for lectoring, eucharist ministers, choir, etc. A few of my friends serve at mass too and the list is very long, so they only have to do it like twice a month, which isn't bad and they enjoy it very much!
Campus Ministry is a huge part of what PC is all about and they are very prominent on campus, very friendly and easy to get involved with.
If you have any other questions just ask!
Thanks!
Hannah
