My First Late Night Madness
Madness was back in Friartown last Friday night as PC kicked off the season with the Men's and Women's Basketball Teams. My friends and I headed off to our first Madness at 9:15 and as we stood in the halls of Concannon waiting to be let in, all you could hear was the chant "PC....FRIARS....PC....FRIARS!" And once the doors opened, we all piled into the gym for a night to remember.

The line-up of activities included a bunch of performances from Dance Team, Dance Company, Dance Club PC Cheerleaders, BMSA, B.O.P and more! There was also a three-point and foul shooting contest, and even a music video for a new and upcoming rapper Ace Diamond was filmed during Madness. The entire time students were cheering, everyone seated in their respective sections, freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors sporting our Friar Fanatic t-shirts.
PC Cheerleaders...
Then came the moment we were all waiting for, the lights went down in Friartown, the spot lights came on and the official countdown to the season began. Then the Men's and Women's PC Basketball Teams were announced and the crowd went wild for the seniors! I have truly seen nothing like it, you think high school pep rallies are fun, well this DOESN'T EVEN COMPARE...just come to PC and you'll find out for yourself!

What is the difference between the dance team and the dance club? Can anyone do the dance club or are there tryouts for that/ a limit to the number of people?

Hey Amanda,
There is a difference between dance club and team. Dance club is open to anyone, I did it first semester and loved it. One hour a week per class that you take and then there is a weekend for your show, so much fun! Dance Team on the other hand you do have to tryout for and they perform at all the home basketball games on the floor during time outs and such. The team is basically hiphop and they do some really cool stuff, but the club has tons of different types of classes you can choose from, I did tap because that is my style and I plan on doing it again this semester! There is no limit of people for the club, but I would guess there is for the team!
If you have anymore questions let me know!
