Mentoring Costume Extravaganza!

Like I said in my post earlier today, we had a great time making costumes yesterday with the San Miguel boys out of common household materials.

Here are pictures like I promised!

THE WHOLE GROUP!

October where'd you go?

October has almost come and gone and right now us PC kids are trying to get through this last week of mid-term exams. Lucky for me I only had one, in my ethics class, but my roommates had tests galore!

Once mid-terms are over, the hustle and bustle of registering for classes for next semester will begin. I cannot belive it is already that time! I am getting ready to plan out my 4th semester at PC, it just does not feel like I have been here that long.

Just to give you an update on my activities...

Admissions Ambassadors has been going great. Although my schedule does not permit me to have Day Visits, I have been giving an Information Session once a week. Speaking to a large group on a weekly basis has really begun improving my public speaking skills and I love talking to prospective students and families, and sharing my PC experience with them, in hopes that they will come here too!

Mentoring has also been going great! Two weeks ago we went on a scavanger hunt around campus and took silly pictures and had a great bonding experience. Yesterday the group acutally took a trip to the San Miguel School where our mentees are located and took a personal tour with them. They were able to show us their classroom, desks and their environment instead of always coming to ours. In addition, we had a costume contest. We were shown a table with limited materials such as garbage bags, straws, cup, plastic gloves, etc. and we had to dress our mentees up in a costume. IT WAS A BLAST, hopefully I will have pictures soon.

All in all October has been crazy busy, but in the end hardwork pays off!

Apple Day at Ray!

Today is the annual Apple Fest at Ray where almost everything in our cafeteria some how incorporates apples. For lunch there was macaroni and cheese with apple which was delicious, also apple pizza, apple crisp and other treats for dessert and I cannot wait to see what they will have for dinner tonight too. Apple Fest means you know October is here and mid-terms are coming..dun dun dun..but it is a part of college and we will all make it through!

Late Night Madness is Friday, when we kick off the start to the basketball season. I am going to pick up my shirt tonight at McPhails, can't wait!

One month has come and gone

I woke up this morning and did not even realize it was October 1st. Where has the time gone?
It certainly does not feel like we have been at school a month already, but the calendar does not lie.

Since my last update, my schedule has not slowed down. I went home Saturday night of last weekend to watch my sister perform in her first marching band show of the season, which was great to see. She was really excited that I came.

Today was especially fun on campus because my friends and I went to go pick up our student tickets for the upcoming Friar Basketball Season. There was a cookout on the lower quad, and we got to pick up the tickets and our free t-shirts which have a new design that read, "Lets get friared up!" Different from last year but I really like them.

On Saturday I will be attending a scholarship lunch for all recipients who received financial aid from generous donors. We get to have lunch with the donors in 64' Hall and thank them for their support that helps us be able to go to PC. Hopefully there will be good food, haha! Do I sound like your typical college student or what?

Next week is crazy for me, 2 papers due and my first Civ Exam, but hopefully I'll have a free minute to update!
