Busy, Busy, Busy!

As much as I would love to be outside every day this week because it seems like spring is finally here, unfortunately I am inside doing work for several of my marketing classes. This week I have my Broadcast Advertising midterm. Broadcast Advertising is one of my free electives and a class that I suggest to those of you thinking about careers in advertising either on the radio or in television. We spend most of our class time examining the effectiveness of reaching consumers through various methods of advertising as well as analyzing radio and television commercials. The class also draws-in material from several of the marketing courses I have taken, which is helpful in understanding how to appropriately target consumers with advertising. Along with this midterm, I am busy doing a group project for my Marketing Strategy class. Marketing Strategy is the marketing capstone, which challenges marketing majors to use what they have learned in their marketing courses and apply their knowledge to case situations and a group project. My group and I are designing a marketing plan for LaSalle Bakery, which is a bakery in Providence. We are currently examining LaSalle and designing a plan to assess their business and provide them with recommendations for a future strategy. LaSalle is a small bakery located right near Providence College and it sells a variety of specialty baked goods. For those of you who have not been, I highly recommend it. It is within walking distance from PC and is reasonably priced. Well, there is more work to be done…I will post again soon!
