An Interesting Story

So last week my Sales Management professor e-mailed our class to inform us that TechTarget, the company I have been interviewing with lately, would be coming in to speak to my class. TechTarget is a targeted IT media service company. They have been looking to hire associate account executives, which would entail going through a six week sales training program and then building and maintaining accounts.

My professor had told us that a Providence College graduate, along with a Human Resources person, would be coming in to speak to us. So I walked into class yesterday and who is standing in the front of the room, but two of the people I have interviewed with already! I could not believe it. Needless to say, they did their best to involve me in their discussion. I thought that the presenters did a great job representing the company and arousing curiosity amongst the students in my class. It is so rewarding when you can see how material you learn in class is applied to the real world. My Sales Management professor does a great job integrating opportunities like these into our course of study. Choosing where you want to start working is difficult because, regardless of the position you apply for, you really just don’t know what to expect. The whole concept excites me, yet terrifies me at the same time.
