My favorite time of the year, at least in terms of the dining experience, has to be October. Apple Fest is here and it's fabulous. All the meals have at least some aspect of apple incorporated in them and it makes for a very festive experience. I decided to be bold today and tried pasta with apples and cheddar sauce. It was surprisingly good -- I mean I don't often equate apples and melted cheddar cheese. I also enjoyed a simple grilled cheese. Dessert is by far the best aspect of apple fest. There's apple pie, apple tarts, apple everything. I went for the warm apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. So good! My roommate Whitney and I couldn't leave without snagging a few apples for our room. We opted for Red Delicious and Granny Smith. Hopefully there are some apples left over that I can snag throughout the week!
