Hey everybody,
Hope everything has been going well, summer ended too fast! This first semester so far has been hectic. I started my clinicals this year which has been..an adventure to say the least ha. We started out in the assisted living for 3 weeks then moved over to St. Clair hospital on the post surgical floor. Were doing basic stuff like bed baths, changing bed linens, and of course cleaning up when the bathroom is just too far away. I got to see some other things along the way when something interesting pops up we all run in to watch. Since I missed my first clinical I got to make it up at AGH in the operating room and watched a few surgeries. I saw them scope a patients hip joint and the other one was a prisoner who snapped his arm in half 5 months ago and never got it fixed. I never thought I'd see anything like that. Good thing I ate a good breakfast. I'm usually the kid laying on the floor giving blood. Suprisingly I did well I just stayed intersested and didn't think about it. It wasn't until Monday watching a simple procedure that I ran out and passed out in the bathroom ha. Apparently I can watch them saw bones but a little PICC line got me. Anyway, aside from school were about a month into our season and were 3-1! Starting out with a winning record this year. We beat Minnesota our first game of the year which was unreal. They started out being ranked #3 so it was a huge win for us. While we were there we got to spend some time at the Mall of America which was pretty neat. I'm actually leaving in about an hour back to the rink to get on the bus. Were going to drive through the night on our way to St. Lawrence for the weekend. I think while we're there were going to cross the border and visit Canada for the day, probably tomorrow. Anyway wish us luck! It'll be another big weekend if we can pull of another win or two against them. Talk to you soon!
