Spring Break

Wow I can't believe its Spring Break already! I'm spending mine back in good old Kittanning, PA. Fun, Let me tell you! lol It's actually not too bad. I have a ton of video/photography projects to work on and my Portfolio. OH jeez! This semester is almost over and I don't have a summer internship yet! Yikes, okay so I'm majorly stressing about that but I shouldn't have to much troubles. I'm getting help from my photography professor so I'm sure I'll find one somewhere. Well I better go... get back to my work so I'll have a chance of a spring break. LOL

February already?

Wow I really can't believe we're starting the 5th week of classes this week! This semester is flying by. I'm soooo busy, but I'm having soo much fun. I'm working at the Documentary Center OFFICIALLY this semester, and loving it. I'm helping them organize everything that we worked on in Chile and it's a very interesting process.

I love working with different people and learning new things. ( I worked at the television studio for 3 years. It was fun but I felt I wasn't learning as much anymore.) I'm also getting credit for working as the Photo Editor for the Newspaper. This semester I've already shot a basketball game and a couple speaker events.

It's really fun and kind of challenging all at the same time.

Last night a group of my friends and I went to the "Mystery Dinner Theater". It was hilarious! One of Robert Morris' own was part of the cast and they did such a good job! The Student Programming Board sponsored the event as part of their weekend programming and it so fun. I kind of regret never attending in past years because I won't be here next year.
But anyway back to more editing and taking some pictures!

HOLA!!!

Hola! Como estas? Well it's a brand new semester and I'm still not quite into the swing of things. We just got back from our exchange trip to Valparaiso, Chile last Monday, the same day as the first day of classes. How exhausting! But the trip was absolutely amazing! It was such a wonderful experience. I have traveled a lot in my 20 years of family vacations and experienced a lot of different cultures but never have a been so immersed in a culture so different from my own. The food, the language, the nightlife outside our doorstep. It was unbelievable! And I learned so much while I was there! I've never done a documentary before so learning the process while getting to meet the best graffiti artists in Valpo (the topic of our doc.) was incredible. Well I have class here in about 10 minutes and need to finish getting prepped but I will right more and add more pics! Maybe some video to if I get time! ... More to come!

Okay so I went to upload pics but the files are to large... I'll have to edit the files then I'll share ;)

Another Semester Down

Hey all,

So I'm a little late blogging this month but it's been soo busy around here. I'm home now on winter break.. another semester down 2 more to go. I just figured it out this month that I can graduate a semester early!!!! GO me! HAHA actually it's because I was a bachelors of fine arts in the Media Arts program and switched to a bachelor of arts so that I could minor in photography. The Bachelors of Arts requires fewer credits to graduate so, having taken 18 credits every semester when I thought I had more requirements, I will be done a semester early!!! That's really exciting.... I love the RMU community and am a little nervous about leaving it but I am so excited to join the real world and feel totally capable with my professional background I have gained here.

Now, as far as Winter break goes, things have been good but I don't really feel like I get a very long break. I am headed to Valparaiso, Chile, South America in less than a week for a Documentary trip with the Media Arts department. We'll be down there fore 2 weeks and overall I am gaining 6 credits from this trip. This is awesome! I'm so excited.

I will definitely have photos and video for you all when I get back! ( I won't have much internet access while down there! )

See you all in a few weeks!

This year is flying by...

I can't believe Thanksgiving break is only a week away! It feels like this semester has just flown by. I've been sooo busy this semester but it feels like things are starting to slow down. I only have one more week of work at the studio this semester which is awesome, that will give me more time to work on my final projects. Being a Media Arts student most of my finals are videos or photography layouts, so I don't have a lot of tests to study for.
This week was the start of our Winterguard season. Tryouts are today!!!! I'm so not ready for this season. It looks like we might not have enough girls to actually compete this year which is really sad. We fought all year to have a division that we could compete in and now we might not even compete. Hopefully things change! ... Well I should probably go practice the routine before tryouts!! I'll add more later!

Fall at RMU

Hey all,

Welcome to my awesome blog!! ... okay, maybe not so awesome but I will try to keep everyone updated on what's happening here on the moon! This semester has been totally crazy, exciting, and stressful all rolled into one! We've just finished midterms (which thankfully I didn't really have any, a perk of being a media student) so everyone around here has been pretty stressed lately. But everyone's starting to relax again.

I absolutely love fall in western PA! I know, I sound like I've never seen fall leaves before but I think some of the trees around here are really beautiful. I just spent a weekend up north in Cooks Forest and Volant (outside of Grove City, PA) and we had an awesome time. I took one of my roommates,Farhana, and her sister,Kayenat, with me. The girls are from Bangladesh and Kayenat had never seen the fall leaves before... I figured it just wasn't right to be in PA in Autumn and not experience it country style. lol

Now, don't get me wrong... I don't want you all to think that just because we traveled all day Friday to have some fun that nothing happens here on campus. Because that's definitely not true! Two weeks ago was RMU Homecoming!
That was one awesome weekend. Student life sponsors a dance at the ball room of a local hotel every year, and the entire school goes... okay almost the entire school... but still it's an awesome excuse to get all dressed up and have a great time w/ some friends. Who knows you may even meet some awesome people there! I know I did!

On that Saturday our boys beat our rivals, DUQUESNE, in our first conference game of the season. WAY TO GO COLONIALS! That was one intense game. We sold out to standing room only! The stadium was packed! And our guard preformed with the band in pre-game! Our colorguard, including yours truly, is new this semester and is really getting underway for next season. I'm really excited to see what our girls can do!! Our winterguard season starts next month so we're all so pumped!

Oh! And a couple other really cool things happening around campus as of late! We just had a paranormal investigator come visit Massey hall, home of colonial theater, to see if it really is haunted. You can read all about it in the latest edition of the Sentry, our student newspaper.

Speaking of Colonial theatre! They just finished their first production of the season! Aida was a major hit! I can't believe that we have such a huge group of such talented students among us here at RMU! It was truly an amazing performance. I LOVED IT!! The theatre's hard at work again though. Their next show comes out in the beginning of November. Awesome 80's Prom is being held at local hall in downtown Pittsburgh! I can't wait to go see it.. I love dinner theater!!!

Well thats all I've got for now guys! I've gotta go get ready for a really fun pre-halloween weekend!! But check out the pics from Homecoming and I'll post some from my Fall getaway as soon as I get them uploaded!!
