SXSW BABY!!!!
IT WAS EVERYTHING I THOUGHT IT'D BE AND THEN SOME!!!

I had an amazing time in Texas!!! First of all I was very surprised to find that Austin people are some of the MOST welcoming and accepting people I've ever met in my life. - Being a lady of color...I'd been told to stay on my toes because obviously parts of Texas still have a pretty prolific reputation for being racist! But it was to my delight to find out that that wasn't a problem at all!!!

SXSW was incredible though. Fader (the company I work for) & Levi's had a huge warehouse space that they turned into the FADER/LEVIS FORT! You could only get in IF you were lucky enough to get a bracelet! Once you walked in there were all of these music genre themed rooms (a grunge room, a 80s hip hop room, etc) [I helped the artist install the 80s hip-hop room (HOT!!!) he was a super cool cat]! And they had their own stage for their own line up of bands!! - and personally I thought the sound was better at the Fader fort than at any other event I went to (but I'm a sound snob).

I met a lot of people! Did a hell of a lot of promoting! And saw a lot of excellent music!!!

My SXSW band pick of the whole event was DOES IT OFFEND YOU YEAH!!! I'm totally hooked. I chatted with the guitarist after I saw them perform for the second time and though the band's from London, it turns out their guitarist grew up in CHICAGO!! We had a moment together!!!!

Anyhow...I'm overwhelmed and tired now, but I'm sure I'll have more SouthBy love comin up next post! I've got pictures and then some!
